[REVEALED] Why There Is An Ouburst Between Obasanjo And Jonathan

It emerged at the weekend that recent outbursts by former President Olusegun Obasanjo against President Goodluck Jonathan stemmed from the latter’s refusal to implement a proposal from the former president in respect of the 2015 elections.

Sources in Abuja revealed that the former president had sent emissaries and also whispered to Jonathan that he would back his 2015 ambition if he (Jonathan) agreed to drop Vice-President Namadi Sambo as his running mate.

It was gathered that the former president had spoken in favour of Jonathan fielding Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, as his running mate.

Jude 'Engees' Okoye, the older brother and manager of P-Square has welcomed a baby girl with his wife, Ify. Ify gave birth at 7.29pm at Northside Hospital Atlanta, Georgia, yesterday Saturday Nov. 29th. Mother and daughter are doing great.

The little angel has been named Princess Emma Adanna Okoye and also, mother and daughter are in good condition.A big congrats to them!

MOUAU VC protests marginalisation, fund starvation

Edeoga, has vigorously protested the non release of the
university’s take-off grant 22 years after its establishment,
and the partial release of its annual capital allocations.
Edeoga who registered his protest when the House of
Representatives Committee on Education visited the
institution as part of its oversight function, alleged that the
unfair treatment being meted out to the university by the
federal government amounted to marginalisation of its host
geopolitical zone- the South East.

Olugbenga Ashiru, a former minister of foreign affairs has died in a South African hospital today. Family members who confirmed his death said he died of brain tumour in the South African hospital. It was also gathered that Mr Ashiru has been hospitalized for over 3 months before passing away today. He was 66. RIP

The annual Channel O Music Video Awards for 2014 just held in Johannesburg in South Africa at the Nasrec Expo Centre. Diamond and Cassper Nyovest packed the majority of the award for the night while Nigerian artistes including Tiwa Savage, Kcee and Olamide walked away with an award each also.

[PHOTOS] Pope Prays In Istanbul Mosque In New Outreach

Pope Francis has taken part in a Muslim prayer alongside the Grand Mufti of Istanbul on the second leg of his three-day visit to Turkey. Francis stood on Saturday morning with his head bowed and hands clasped in front of him in a two minutes of silent prayer inside the 17th-century Sultan Ahmet mosque, aiming to show respect for Islam and encourage stronger ties between the two faiths.

"May God accept it," Rahmi Yaran, the Grand Mufti of Istanbul told the pope at the end of the prayer.

House of Representatives Speaker Aminu Tambuwal asks IGP to be jailed for contempt. In the application filed by his counsel, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), Tambuwal accused the IGP of committing contempt of the order of court for status quo made on November 7.

Tambuwal averred that the IGP undertook not to tamper with the subject of the dispute being his status as Speaker, but has been the only person who does not recognise him as the speaker. He added that even the president still recognises him as the speaker.

[UPDATED] 120 Killed, 270 Injured in Kano Bomb Blast

About 120 Muslim worshippers died and 270 were injured on Friday as the violent Boko Haram sect bombed the 10,000 capacity Kano Central Mosque where the Emir, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, usually leads prayers. About 10 gunmen went on a shooting spree after the blast at the mosque, which is close to the Emir of Kano’s palace. The emir was said to have travelled to Saudi Arabia late on Thursday night from Paris. Witnesses said the incident happened just as residents were getting set for Friday prayers.

7 Drug Traffickers On Their Way To Hong Kong Arrested At Abuja Airport

Forty-nine-year-old Fred Obi was about to board an Ethiopian Air flight from Abuja to Tel Aviv, Israel with a strange cargo allegedly concealed in his stomach when the law caught up with him. He had ingested 1.594kg of cocaine.

But he was not the only one boarding that same flight with the intention of transporting narcotics they had ingested on November 22, 2014 when they were arrested by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Over 50 Killed In Central Mosque Today In Kano State

Over 50 persons are said to have died in the three explosions that rocked the Kano Central mosque during Juma’at prayers this afternoon.

An eyewitness who spoke to BBC says he counted over 50 dead bodies. Sources at the emir’s palace say Emir of Kano Sanusi arrived Saudi Arabia last night from Kano.

The bomb blast that occurred at Kano Central Mosque on Friday during Juma’at prayers this afternoon Nov 28. The Kano Central Mosque is where the Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido usually lead prayers on Fridays. Lamido is said to be absent during the attack.

Security personnel who confirmed the incident said the attacker disguised as a worshiper. He tells TheCable that the explosions occurred right inside Ado Bayero Central mosque. .

According to Punch, Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, today attacked former President Olusegun Obasanjo for his criticism of President Goodluck Jonathan, Punch reports.

Fayose spoke at the Yoruba Progress Summit, held at the Oduduwa Hall of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State. Fayose, who was impeached as the Ekiti State Governor in 2006 during the reign of Obasanjo as President, said the ex-president was corrupt and was not in a position to criticise Jonathan.

A riot broke out this morning in Lekki around 8:00am with eyewitnesses saying it’s actually a fight between Hausa okada riders, and Yoruba Lekki Estate Shuttle drivers. According to the source, the riot which occurred this morning was as a result of an attack carried out by Hausa Okada riders on Yoruba bus drivers who drive some of the estate’s shuttle buses last night.

The eyewitness who spoke to pulse.ng this morning said;

“It all started yesterday when the Hausa okada riders attacked the bus drivers, they shattered the windows of their buses and injured a few bus drivers. This morning, the drivers with the help of some men caught some of these okada riders and beat them to a pulp”.

In a recent interview with VANGUARD, Yemi Blaq has revealed the relationship between himself and Ghanaian top actress, Juliet Ibrahim. He also said his wife, Remi Blaq knows fully well what’s happening between them, and she’s very much okay with it. Performing artiste, Muma Gee who got married to a Nollywood actor, Prince Eke in 2011 has said she can never dump her music career for marriage.
According to Muma Gee who says she never courted her husband before they finally tied the knot, said they have had their ups and down in marriage like every other couple and she’s glad they are still in it. But she can never trade her music career for marriage.

Here’s what she told Punch; “I can never dump my music career. Music is part of me and will always be. I live, breathe, eat and drink music. I just cannot survive without making music. So it is impossible to quit, not even now that I am married.

The Nigerian government has approved N9billion for the distribution of 750, 000 Clean Cook Stoves and 18,000 Wonder bags to Nigerians, in a bid to stop the depletion of forest resources caused by indiscriminate felling of trees.

The approval followed a memo presented by the Minister of Environment, Laurentia Mallam, at the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting the Federal Government.

The stoves and wonder bags, meant for women in the rural areas, would be distributed under the National Clean Cooking Scheme, NCCS, which seeks to stem the use of solid fossils like firewood and charcoal for cooking.

Stella Oduah Still Owes Her Company's Staff 5 months Salary

Princess Stella Oduah’s Sea Petroleum and Gas Company Limited (SPG) is allegedly owing its workers five months salary and other entitlements.
DAILY POST gathered on Wednesday that despite splashing multi-million naira for the expansion of her business empire after she was dropped as Aviation Minister, Oduah appears to have forgotten those on payroll in SPG. Sources said the situation had caused disquiet within the company with some staff hinting of their resignation by the end of the year, if there was no improvement.
