The quest for sustainable sanitary pads, other than the use of rags, tissue papers, newspapers and the likes by women, to manage their monthly menstrual flow has received a major boost, following a revolutionary development of a new range of sanitary pads known as DIVA.
At a press conference in Lagos, Managing Director of Marley Global Limited (manufacturers of DIVA), MrHaresh Dalamal, introduced the company as one ‘built on the premise of driving healthcare and hygiene throughout Africa’.”
He described the DIVA range as the most innovative sanitary pads yet among competing brands, following a rigorous two-year R&D programme.
The introduction of the ‘Slim’ pad – a new technology never seen before in the African market, is a combination of a traditional ‘Regular’ pad and an ‘Ultra-Thin’. It can be found selling in the market for as low as N100!
“Not only are we committed to provide high quality and affordable products, but are fully focused on pushing education to help show Nigerian women the importance of personal hygiene, Dalamal added.”
The ‘Diva Educational Programme’ will be launching next month, with the company planning to host educational seminars at numerous schools throughout the country, where young girls will have access to information on feminine hygiene as well as receiving free samples of the products.
The highlight of the event was the introduction of the brand ambassador, Stephanie Linus an A-list Nigerian international act.
While expressing the confidence and delight of the company on their choice of brand ambassador, Dalamal noted that“with her international pedigree, she would be fundamental in helping spread the awareness of the ‘Diva Educational Programme’, as well as the new innovative ‘Slim’ technology pad in the African market.”
Stephanie Linus on her part described “Diva as the first brand of sanitary napkin with a solution that provides extra protection whilst at the same time being comfortable and affordable”.
She added “Yes I am an actor but that doesn’t mean I don’t do stuff that every woman does. I hang out with my friends and family, go watch movies and party. And I don’t let anything stop me from doing that”.
Divas brand vision in Africa is very straightforward, they want to enable all girls and women of today to lead a quality life and take pride in being a woman just like me. That is why I am so excited about this campaign! Through this campaign I wish to convey to every girl out there that she should not be worried when she has her period but instead move about confidently like a DIVA! “
DIVA which offers effective protection for every menstrual day, is made up of 5 products which are broken up into 3 types SLIMS, ULTRA-THINS & SUPER DELUXE, a straight fluff pad that has been especially designed for nursing mothers and for heavy flow.
DIVA is manufactured by Marley Global Limited, a company built to educate, empower, encourage and equip young girls and women with the knowledge and tools they need to be proud of their bodies, health and womanhood.
