See PHOTOS From The Fifth Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards

It was a gathering of great faces and voices in the Nigerian broadcasting world, as the fifth edition of the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA) finally held on Saturday November 15, 2014, at the Ballroom of Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Ikeja, Lagos. It was an evening with memories that would outlive all who attended the event especially those who grabbed NBMA’s new plaque made of ’18 carat’ gold ; a monument of honour and prestige from the event.

The event that was anchored by the wonderful trio of Wazobia FM’s electrifying presenter Omotunde Adebowale- David a.k.a Lolo1 alongside Rhythm FM’s ace presenter Anita Isedeh otherwise known as Omalicha and ‘Elajoe’,  was a mixture of music, comedy and fashion show.

There were a lot of winners in the competitive categories and the smile on their faces as well as their tight grip on the plaques in their hands told the entire story without using words. His Excellency, Governor Mohammed Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State was crowned as the Best Governor in the Northern region of Nigeria.

Aside inducting Otunba Dayo Adeneye (D-1) into NBMA’s Hall of Fame, Dr. Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan, the Executive Chairman ATAR Communication, bagged The Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to the growth of quality broadcasting in the Northern part of Nigeria.
