How I ‘Married’ Patience Ozokwor As A Young Man – Nollywood Actor Victor Osuagwu

Popular Nollywood actor, Victor Osuagwu, who is the new Lagos branch chair of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, opens up in a recent interview about his life, acting career, his wife and many other things.
Victor said he was born with neither a silver spoon nor a wooden spoon but rather a divine spoon. Born and bred in Port Harcourt, he said he shares blood relations with Rivers State as his mother is from Opobo.
“When I say I was born with a divine spoon, it means that I have a special talent, instilled by God after creating me, and that is the talent I’m using today for entertainment,” he said.
He met his wife at University of Port Harcourt when she was still a young girl of 17 years and he told her straight she was going to be his wife. They courted for a long time before they finally got married.
Describing his first experience on stage, he said it was awesome while adding that he had never had an embarrassing day on stage.
When asked his most memorable day as an actor, he said, “Every role given to you as an artiste, you must see it as challenging. There is no role that you consider bigger or smaller, because all it entails is for you to interpret those roles; it is not your character; it has nothing to do with your identity; you are playing somebody’s character. So, obviously, they are all challenging. But, then, there is one particular challenging role I did, and when I read the script, I was happy to be part of it; I didn't go for the money, but the name I was about to make out of it – that was in One Dollar. Then, I was 30-something years old, and I was meant to play a 70-something-year-old man.
“You could imagine at that age I was getting married to somebody like Patience Ozokwor. So, you were meant to transform your character from your youthful age to that of an elderly man the script is talking about, not just his age, but his attitude and everything. When I got that role, I asked myself, “How am I going to do this?” I worked with my makeup artiste and we suggested ways we could achieve a better interpretation of that role, so we came up with ideas, like having baldhead, wrinkles and grey hairs. When I looked myself in the mirror afterwards, I was sure I wasn‘t the Victor that I know (laughs), and I played that role well.”
On how he handles stardom, he said he considers his relationship with his fans and the public outside there adding that managing oneself is not easy, because sometimes the stardom gets into your head.

Former Lagos Deputy Governor, Alhaja Ojikutu, Arrested For Fraud

The Special Fraud Unit (SFU) of the Nigeria Police today Tuesday Feb. 4th arrested former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Alhaja Sinatu Aderoju Ojikutu, Sahara Reporters reports.
She will appear in court tomorrow in connection with fraudulently obtaining N130million from one Cajethan Okekearu.
Mrs. Ojikutu was declared wanted on June 19, 2013, but she went to court to halt police investigations, a suit that was thrown out by a judge a few weeks ago.
The SFU police spokesperson Ngozi Isintume-Agu said in a statement that Alhaja Ojikutu, 67, who was picked up at her Lagos Island residence, allegedly connived with one Samson Adebisi Ojikutu Jnr, her son, to commit the offence. Samson is currently in the United States.
According to the statement, the former deputy governor and her son “were parties to the sale of the land and both signed the agreement given to the Complainant and obtained the sum of N130 million from him.”
The police said the suspect admitted the crime but explained it as a genuine mistake of plot identification. She then refunded the sum of N50 million to the complainant and promised to refund the balance as soon as she had disposed of two other properties she had put up for sale.
The statement further said Mrs. Ojikutu has confessed that she injected the complainant’s money into her business.
“She equally made an undertaking and payment plan which was drawn from September, 2012 and was to terminate by November 2012, but she defaulted due to lack of fund.”
The police further said the deal unraveled when Okekearu, on the verge of completion of development of the land, was accosted by the bona fide owner of the property and it was established that the land that the suspect had sold actually belonged to one Mr. Afolabi.
“It was also discovered that the Plot 24 Block 4, which actually belonged to Late Samson Adebisi Ojikutu Snr, the suspect’s husband who died in 2008 was sold by him in 1995 and the suspect was a life witness and appended her signature to the sale of the land. A financial institution (name withheld) which was in possession of the CofO after payment was fully made also tendered the original CofO which the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State had earlier declared missing and even sworn an affidavit to.”
The statement recalled that Alhaja Ojikutu had sued the Inspector-General of Police, the Commissioner of Police, SFU, and the complainants, asking the court to restrain the police from further investigations and violations of her fundamental rights.
“The ruling by Justice Obadina (Mrs) on 17th December 2013, dismissed the Suit for lack of merit, that the Nigeria Police has the power to prosecute the Applicants, Alhaja Sinatu Aderoju Ojikutu and her son, Sampson Adebisi Ojikutu (Jnr) since the Police investigation revealed that there is prima-facie case of obtaining by false pretences against them and added that the court will not interfere or restrain the Police in carrying out their statutory function,” the statement said.
The former deputy governor will be arraigned at the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday morning.

The Things He Carries: Burna Boy
I carry my mic around and I use it every single time because I’ve been to shows where other mics almost ruined my show .Versace shades, I usually carry about 5 of them around; sometimes I go to weird places where people don’t really get my face till they see me in the shades.
I always carry Play Station because I haven’t managed to finish Grand Theft Auto, so all the time I travel I take it upon myself to complete the mission. I carry this around because it’s gold init? I’m a big fan of gold and as you can see, I have my tag on it ‘oluwaburna’; It’s my identity!
The bucket hat: first, it fits me really well so I became addicted. Second since I have an afro when I’m on the road, even when I have a comb sometimes I need to be ready within minutes so I just throw it on and I’m good to go.
Skittles, I need my skittles man! No skittles no show. And my Jordans, other than the fact that they’re really comfortable, I just like Jordans!

We'll Burn Nigeria If Jonathan Lose in 2015 - Asari Dokubo

Niger Delta militant leader, Mujaheeden Asari-Dokubo, has insisted once again that his kinsmen in the oil-rich Nigeria Delta would burn down Nigeria if President Goodluck Jonathan failed to secure a second term ticket in 2015 presidential election. He said APC must not pick a Northern candidate if they do not want trouble.
“If it is war the North wants, we are ready for them because Jonathan must complete the mandatory constitutionally allowable two terms of eight years. At home, we have regrouped and we have put our people at alert.
"In less than one hour, the way we would strike, the world will be shocked. If anybody does anything against Jonathan, we will retaliate. What we will do will shock the whole world. We will cripple the economy of the country not only in the creeks, but also on the nation’s territorial waters, no vessel will be allowed to enter Nigeria’s territorial waters."
Speaking in an interview with National Mirror, Asari insisted that the people of the Niger Delta would make the country ungovernable if President Jonathan is not re-elected even in a free and fair election.
The militants’ leader said APC should field a presidential candidate from South-South to challenge Jonathan in the election. Asari-Dokubo said the people of the Niger Delta would not accept the defeat of Jonathan, and that the President must be allowed to rule for eight years (that is 10 years).
Warning the North, Asari said: “Let them not try anything. If they abuse Jonathan, there is no problem, he is their President but anything that will affect the interest of the Ijaw people and the interest of the entire people of the Niger Delta will be resisted at any cost.”
Asari-Dokubo also vowed that the defeat of Jonathan in a free and fair election would trigger crisis. He said: “Jonathan cannot be defeated, they cannot defeat him, they don’t have the right, every part of the country must have equal stake in the presidency of the country. Let them go and sleep in their houses. If they don’t, they are looking for trouble and we are going to give it to them."

[Photos] Man Gets Buried Sitting On His Beloved Bike
Billy Standley started planning to be buried astride his 1967 motorcycle about 18 years ago. According to his family, Bill didn’t just want to ride to heaven, he wanted the whole world to see him do it in a see-through coffin.
So when he eventually died on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at the age of 82 of lung cancer, his family carried out his dying wish and buried him on the bike covered in a large Plexiglas casket.
The burial was bizarre, and a bit shocking. It was very difficult to hold and definitely not cheap but Bill Standley wanted to make an entrance when he meets his maker.
