NIS RECRUITMENT: "I Looked Everywhere For My Wife And Found Her In The Mortuary" - Widowed Father Of Three

EDO STATE - Austin Amun lost his wife Sandra last Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, where the now-notorious recruitment exercise of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) took place.
If he had known how the day would end, he laments, he would have asked government to forget its job so they could continue to live together. Mr. Amun, from Uzebba, Owan West LGC of Edo State, survived the stampede.
Amun recalled they got to the recruitment venue on time, but met an uncontrollable crowd at the stadium, as thousands of applicants struggled to participate in the job test.
The stampede occurred because the organizers decided to lock the big gates and used the small ones at the stadium. As a result, people had to pay N1000 each to gain entry. Those who could not afford the money made frantic efforts to find their way into the stadium at all costs, a situation that created chaos.
"I applied for the job as a senior secondary school holder while my wife applied as a graduate because she finished from Auchi Polytechnic. On that day, while we were on queue, I could have been the victim because while I was in the crowd, I almost couldn't breathe. I told her we should go home," Mr. Amun narrated.
"But she said I shouldn’t worry, that I should find somewhere to relax while she will be at the stadium and monitor things and then get back to me. About 20 minutes later, her younger brother who also came to write the examination saw me and asked after his sister. I told him she was in the crowd. 30 minutes later, somebody shouted that a woman had died. I didn't know it was my wife.
"It was then they now went to open the big gates into the stadium. The first time, they were using the small gates; it was after the incident that they went to open the big gates, for people to enter the stadium. I thought I was going to see her inside the stadium. I went round the place, I didn't see her. Around 4 pm when we were about to write the test, I still had not seen her and I became more worried but the brother encouraged me to write the test saying maybe she was writing her own somewhere. After the test, I sat by the gates thinking while coming out I would see her. I waited till around 6.30 to 7 pm.
"Later, thought maybe she would be in my viewing centre. I went there but didn't see her. People came around to watch football, but because I had not seen my wife, I couldn't open the shop. I locked the place and called her younger brother and my friend who has a vehicle. We went to the hospital where they rushed those injured during the test, to check if she was there; but they said they had discharged four people who sustained injuries.
"They checked their names, my wife's name was not there. They now said there was one woman who Immigration officials brought without a name and they used no name to book the woman's corpse. I now requested to see the woman. Behold, I saw my wife in the mortuary sleeping alone. I touched her, she could not touch me, I called her, she could not answer.
"I tried to call her phone because I did not believe she was dead; but she did not pick. But somebody picked her phone on the ground and the person told me he couldn't reach the owner until after the test, because of the crowd. It was the next day that the Civil Defence people that collected it brought it home."
Since the incident, Mr. Amun says, nobody has reached out to him from the Immigration Service. He is devastated by the death of his beloved wife whom he had known even before she went to the university. They have three children together: two daughters, Favour, 6, Miracle, 5, and a son Favour, 3.
He begs the government for assistance and support, suggesting the children whose parents have died in the terrible stampede should be given scholarships, and their relatives provided with jobs.

“I have not had any sexual experience’ – singer Jodie says

In a recent interview with the NETng, Kuchi Kuchi crooner, Jodie Odiete says she has never had any sexual experience. Jodie was asked what her take was on sexual relationships and she said;

“Personally to me it is wrong because I am not married. I am not condemning those who do it, this is just my personal opinion. I really should not have an opinion on sex because I don’t have any experience. Sex means nothing to me so I can’t get into any relationship just because of that”

About her dream man, Jodie said;

“I want a man that is my friend. Someone who would stand by me and be there for me. It is hard to find a friend in this dangerous world we live in so I need a friend. My friend should or would be the totality of me. With your friend in your life, there would be a large room of compatibility. To sum it up, instead of saying he should be tall, dark, short, slim, fat and all, he should be my friend, one I can relate with without inhibition”.

Nollywood Actor Chinedu Ikedieze AKA Aki Finally Reveals His Thoughts About Himself Been A DWARF!

Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze popularly known as Aki  in an interview with Yes! Magazine was  asked if he ever wonders why he was created in the form he is. His answer after the cut..

“Am I the one that created myself? Why would I ask myself such a question? You can only ask such a question when you are frustrated about life or if you are tired of life. But in my own case I am not. When you wake up in the morning and you have something to eat, you have people who can smile at you and you smile back  as well, then what else do you need? Then you go to bed, you sleep and you seldom go to the hospital, so which other gift is more important than that? As far as I am concerned, that is the greatest gift. There are some people who have all the money, cars, houses and all the things they want, but they are sick. They don’t enjoy the money. So the perfect gift for me is good health”.

Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze popularly known as Aki who got conferred with the MFR title by President Jonathan in July 2010 says the national title does not come with any visible benefits to him. Aki in a chat with Yes! magazine this week said there is no monetary value or special benefits to the title as obtained in western countries.

“The only joy in it is the recognition. When I am traveling and I get to the Airport, I get special preference and recognition. Apart from that, I don’t get any other thing. I don’t get paid, I don’t get any special benefits as an MFR. As an MFR, I hold the same position with some of those who are Members of the British Empire (MBE) and they have some special benefits in the international community and honourary recognitions but those things are not here” he said.

Nigerian Teenange Girl Stabbed and Burnt To Death in Russia

A 17-year-old Nigerian girl Forester Samson (pictured above) was stabbed and burnt to death in Moscow, Russia by yet to be identified Russian gangstars, according to a report by Sunday Sun. Find the full report below
Sunday Sun gathered that she was murdered  by yet-to-be-identified Russian gangsters. According to a family source, the perpetrators went further to lock her body in a room and set it ablaze. Though, the police took her to the  hospital, it was rather futile.
The source revealed that Forester was sponsored abroad by one Mercy who is suspected to be trafficking  Nigerian girls  on the promise that she would assist them  with  decent jobs in Russia. The teenager  without hesitation, but with the approval of her mother jumped at the offer with high hopes.
According to the deceased’s elder sister, Sonia Samson, they got a call from  Mercy, on Tuesday March 4,  2014 that Forester had died in an inferno. She added that the family was later told that Forester was stabbed before being set ablaze.

Sonia said,  “Her madam is the one that called us on Tuesday and told us she was locked in a room and set ablaze by some unknown Russians. She told us that she was rushed to the hospital, that they were treating her.

“Later that day, she also told us that she was initially stabbed before she was burnt. Not too long after, she told us that she was dead. The madam said she was not the only victim in the attack. She said there were five other Nigerians, that another one died four or  five days after the attack.

“My sister died mysteriously, just as another sister of mine was also killed by  armed robbers. Sincerely, I am confused because I don’t know why all this is happening to us. Particularly for me, it is so painful that I don’t really know what to say or do. This is a difficult time for the family and I believe we need to be more prayerful more than ever before.”

The late Forester, who would have been celebrating  her 18th  birthday on March 30  hails from Igbekhue in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State. She   completed her secondary education  in 2013.

Forester’s father, Friday Osazuwa  Samson was killed four years ago in Benin by suspected armed robbers. He was shot in broad daylight in front of his shop at Upper Sakponba. Until Friday’s death, he was a successful businessman, a distributor  with Sona and Bendel breweries.

Siblings and other relatives of the late Forester’s father are worried and pained by circumstances surrounding how Forester was lured into traveling to Russia, which they described as shady. Recognizing the fact that she did not travel to Russia for further education, even as they were not also informed of such plans, they are calling on concerned authorities to wade into the matter.

They are accusing Mercy of human trafficking and  calling on National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to investigate the activities of this said Mercy. They also want the Nigerian Embassy in Russia to as a matter of urgency unravel the mystery surrounding the death of their daughter.

The dastardly act took place on March 3,  2014. Since the news  broke, the entire family has been thrown into mourning.

Sonia, who still finds it difficult to believe that her sister was gone, lamented that Forester’s death was too painful for her to easily accept. To her, she would have better been dreaming and be glad  that the story was not true.

Meanwhile, Forester’s uncle, Mr Saturday Samson Osazuwa accused Forester’s mother of conniving with the said madam (Mercy) to deceive and persuade the teenager to travel abroad. He queried why Forester’s mother, Elizabeth, decided to hide his niece’s whereabouts from him. Saturday, who now acts as a father figure to the children since their father’s death, said the mother refused to disclose where Forester was, even as he insisted on seeing her.

Said he: “The mother was aware that Forester had traveled abroad. Not just that,  I believe she was part of the arrangement that her  17-year-old daughter  should  travel abroad. It is really unfortunate and wicked of her to have taken that decision.

“If my brother, her husband was alive, he would never allow such a thing for any of  his children. What was Forester looking for in Russia? Was it to go there and school? Certainly not. Now, she has caused the entire family pain and sorrow. The girl was beautiful and intelligent. I still cannot understand what she was sent to Russia to do at her tender age.

“For more than five months, her mother was dribbling me whenever I wanted to see Forester. I sent for her to come and see me on a number of occasions but they kept telling me that she was residing with her mother’s relatives in Benin here only for me to receive a call from them that she was dead in a fire accident in Russia. This is the girl that they kept telling me was in Benin. Until her death, the mother refused to tell anybody in our family. If she thought that the children belonged to her alone, that is where she’s mistaken.”

Also, an uncle of late Forester’s father, Mr Evabayekha Christopher, described Forester’s mother as  callous. He wondered why any reasonable mother would send her own daughter  abroad for monetary reasons.

His words: “What exactly will Forester be doing  abroad when she was supposed to be studying at the University of Benin or any other higher institution of learning in Nigeria? What she did is unacceptable to every member of our family.”

Prophet Predicts Death Of Yvonne Nelson, Nadia Buari, Others

A Ghanaian prophet has revealed during his appearance at a radio show that some of the country’s most-loved celebs are on the death list.

Prophet Samuel Baffour of El Shaddai Prayer Centre stated that God has shown him the names of the stars who are in danger. The list included Jim Iyke’s girlfriend, Nadia Buari, Yvonne Nelson, Samini, Obour, Kabobo and Lil’ Win.

The prophet also described how they might die:

Nadia Buari

This death would be similar to Suzzy William’s. Suzzy, a budding actress, perished in a vehicles accident along the Labadi-Tema road.

Yvonne Nelson

Some haters in Ghana would love the actress to be dead. They plotting against Yvonne, so her progress and carrier growth would be stalled. Such crisis would sink so low that nobody recognises her anymore. This will eventually result in her death.

Lil’ Win

Another death on the road has been predicted. Kumawood actor’s life might end in bizarre circumstances. He will either die by knocking down somebody with his car, which will result in his lynching, or he will drive his car into a tree or an electric pole.

Obour

The President of Musicians Union in Ghana is also at risk, according to the prophet. When Obour visits a funeral ceremony of a fellow musician, some haters would poison him. Therefore, toxins would kill Obour.

Samini

The prophet warned that some persons in the music industry are planning the death of the ‘African Dancehall King’, Samini. His name was actually first seen by the prophet. Some people are envious of artiste’s talent and success, so they may harm him, which will lead to his death.

Abducted President Jonathan’s Uncle Narrates His Ordeal - I Was Beaten, Fed With Garri and Oil For 18 Days

Nitabai, a former university lecturer, said his abductors fed him with garri and oil for the 18 days he was held captive. He was blindfolded throughout the period. He also said  he was almost submerged in a swamp while the kidnappers were moving him from one spot to another because he was blindfolded. The already emaciated man, said:

“My ordeal in the hands of my captors was simply horrendous. I was blindfolded  for those 18 days. So I did not see my abductors. They fed me with garri and oil. There was a day they were asking me some foolish questions and I kept quiet. They were upset and beat me up. It was a miracle I did not die that day.” Punch reports Inengite said he had yet to know the motive behind his abduction. When reminded that it could be because of his relation with President Jonathan, he answered that he could not rule it out.

The septuagenarian, who had lectured at Rivers State University before moving to the Niger Delta University, where he retired, was abducted by 10 gunmen about 9pm on February 23, 2014. You recall that Nitabai’s abductors had demanded for a N500 million ransom but were said to be infuriated when his family members said they could only afford N30m.

The kidnappers rejected the N30m, allegedly saying the amount was “unpresidential.” Eventually, according to Bayelsa police spokesman, Mr Alex Akhigbe, no ransom was paid for Nitabai’s release. The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, Mr. Hillary Opara, said Nitabai was rescued in the early hours of Thursday.

Pastor Confesses Adultery in Church to Congregation, then Drops Dead

A congregation loudly confronted its longtime pastor about his alleged infidelity — and in the midst of their yelling, the pastor dropped dead.
That’s what happened Sunday at the Miracle Faith World Outreach Church, according to members of the congregation and police sources.
Bishop Bobby Davis, pastor of the Harriet Street church since its founding in 1967, was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital.
“After the service on Sunday the bishop’s family asked us to remain in the church and the bishop confessed to us something that happened long ago,” said Judy Stovall, an elder at the church. “He wanted to come clean with all of us. He wanted to ask our forgiveness.”
Members of the congregation were very vocal with Davis just before he passed out, but they were shouting support for him, Stovall said.
“We were shouting, `We forgive you, we love you,’ but the stress of all of it — he had a heart attack,” Stovall said. “I held his head as he lay on the floor,” she said, her voice cracking with emotion. “Our congregation is hurting now.”
The cause of death is pending further review, according to the Office of the State Medical Examiner.
Police spokesman William Kaempffer would only confirm that a detective has been assigned to the case. “The circumstances are under investigation,” he said.

"I would have Flogged Donjazzy for disrespecting me"- Eedris Abdulkareem

I never saw that tweet but Eedris claims in the past, Don jazzy tweeted "If you are a rapper, your father will never be proud of you.’..He is still angry over that statement and when Punch asked him he said Don jazzy was lucky he didn't mention his name because he would have flogged him..lol

" First of all, why didn't he stay in London for the British government to give him a record deal? Shebi all of them stayed in London, while some of them, like Banky W, went to America? But they all rushed back to Nigeria because it is here they could make such money. Of course, in America, they will not get paid $10, 000 for a show. Even some of the Americans like 50 Cent, the highest they will get for a show in their country is $50, 000. But they get paid $500, 000 here. If you could make such money here, you don’t have the right to stand up and say as a rapper, your parent will never be proud of you. Fortunately, it was money from rap music money that I used to build my houses. It was through rap music that I could venture into other businesses and do my agricultural project. It was rap money that I used to sponsor other guys on their trips to Europe.
more below

When Don Jazzy posted that Twitter message, he specifically said: ‘For example, Mode 9’. He did that because he knew Mode 9 will not do anything to him. Why didn’t he mention Eedris? I would have sent people to bring him and get him flogged very well.
But I would have used that to teach him a lesson. Some people may call it controversy, but I will say controversy loves me. It is important to address that issue. This guy has allowed everything to get into his head quickly. He was feeling like Meen, so na Nigeria we dey make all this money now? The British government wouldn’t have given him that opportunity. So, it is we that made rap and R&B possible to the extent that you get paid nicely that you are now insulting. Apology or not, it was important that I addressed that issue."

Funny enough, I am happy that they called me a thug. At least, I am an educated thug. People can say whatever they want. Some even say Eedris is proud. I am proud because hip-hop is proud. But the problem is that dem no know my secret. Dem no know how I dey take dey survive. I never come to dem papa house come ask for money before. The money some of these guys are making in the industry, I am the one that ignited the revolution for them to make it. I am fine and happy that I am doing very well. I am a musician, farmer and businessman. I know what I export to Europe. Germany is my base. I speak German. I am a businessman. I know where I am coming from. I am not an idiot.  Let them call me anything; I have friends in the industry, but I am very choosy. 2Face Idibia is my very good friend, Dr. Fresh is my friend and Terry G is my brother. If I am not friends with you, that mean say we no dey the same level and I’m not going to force myself. Na Eba I wan chop, you say make I chop amala. Na by force?

Nollywood Actress Omoni Oboli Praised By Producers And Editors : 'Omoni Is The Best"
