Charles Warren a foremost actor died yesterday, Thursday night.

It was gathered that the actor in the evening complained of severe chest pains and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

His first major break was a movie titled "Mark of the Beast" which featured Majek Fashek in 2001.

He was one of the script writers for "Dear Mother."

The first child of the family and only son. He’s survived by a father, mother and 5 sisters.

Desmond Elliot Denies Relocating His Family Abroad

Actor Desmond Elliot has denied the already gone viral story that he has relocated his family to the United States.
According to the story, Desmond Elliot traveled to the States with his family for the holidays but decided to let them stay permanently in the country in order to provide better education for his children. While some suggested that the actor may have relocated his family for protection, due to his 2015 political ambition.

Speaking to HipHopWorldMagazine.com on phone,  Desmond said the report was totally false.

“It’s not true, not true at all”, he said.

POSSIBLE CURE FOR HIV/AIDS?

A group of Nigerian scientists have found what could be a novel treatment for Human Immune-deficiency Virus, HIV, infection that may slash the cost of treatment. The team of scientists, including graduate students and researchers from the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia state, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, Nigeria have been able to show that synthetic Aluminum-magnesium silicate (AMS) has antiretroviral effects that could lay a perfect track for affordable and effective therapy for HIV.

Results of their work titled "Assessment of Antiretroviral Effects of a Synthetic Aluminum-magnesium Silicate" published in the British Journal of Medicine&Medical Research and featured on nd featured on SCIENCEDOMAIN international shows a significant reduction in the titres of the virus when HIV positive plasma was incubated with AMS. Head, Department of Veterinary Medicine at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, and the lead scientist, Professor Maduike Ezeibe, said the discovery could provide an ultimate cure for the virus that has defiled so many scientific efforts to curtail it in the past.
Ezeibe reacted aluminium silicate with magnesium silicate to obtain the synthetic aluminum-magnesium silicate devoid of impurities. Giving further details Ezeibe noted: "Molecules of aluminum-magnesium silicate have platelets that possess both negative and positive electrical charges on their surfaces and their edges. HIV on the other hand is negatively charged.
So the simple scientific understanding that opposite charges attracts ensures that the HIV virus binds to the AMS and is discharged from the body alongside." "AMS is normally used as a stabilizing medicine that does not really have toxic effect on the patient, so it makes it a suitable agent for mopping up HIV virus from the body," he said. Ezeibe stated that "possession of both negative and positive electrical charges makes AMS a broad spectrum antiviral medicine." "AMS, if used in combination of selected antibiotics and immune stimulant may achieve a 'cure' for HIV," the lead researcher of the work said. "When a significant number of particles of invading viruses adsorb onto its (AMS) molecules instead of onto their hosts cells, viral infections are terminated," Ezeibe noted.
The author noted also that "Adsorbing out HIV means that millions of new virions usually released from each infected cell would be inhibited from establishing new infections in more cells," adding, "Thus, HIV would be prevented from overwhelming the body immune systems and the Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) stage may be prevented.which case Ezeibe said a cure could be achieved.

Jonathan seeks death penalty for cyber crime

President Goodluck Jonathan has proposed a death sentence on persons who hack into the Critical National Information Infrastructure or computer networks resulting in the loss of lives.


The proposal is contained in the Cyber Crime Bill 2013, which is before the House of Representatives.

However, where there is no loss of lives but the offender causes “grievous bodily injury” to another person, the bill recommends a prison term of not less than 15 years.


Using any computer network for terrorism purposes also attracts life sentence.

The bill defines Critical National Information Infrastructure as “certain computer systems, networks and information infrastructure vital to the national security of Nigeria or the economy and social well-being of its citizens.”

The bill frowns on child badography, as it imposes a 10-year jail term for offenders or a fine of N20million or both.

The bill criminalises the use of force to engage children in sexual activities.

Offenders are liable to being convicted to10 years imprisonment or a fine of N15m

[Photo] Doves Released By Pope Francis As A Sign Of Peace Attacked By Angry Birds

Two doves released by children taking part in a ceremony with Pope Francis were attacked by a gull and crow shortly after they were set free from a window of the Apostolic Palace. The gesture was meant as a sign of peace.
Immediately after being released the doves were pecked at by a pair of birds outside the Apostolic Palace, reports Associated Press. One gull pulled feathers off one of the doves before the dove was able to break free. The crow repeatedly pecked at the other dove.



Reports say the doves did finally break free from the two offending birds, but their ultimate fate is unknown.

The incident took place in front of tens of thousands of spectators at St Peter’s Square for Francis’ weekly Angelus prayer. Pope Francis went on to encourage peace in Ukraine, where political unrest has spurred violent protests. At least four people have been killed and hundreds injured in the clashes over the course of the protests.

SSS Release El-Rufai On Bail

Sources from the Service say Mr. El-Rufai was relased after a series of interrogations. Agents of the SSS were displeased upon finding out that Mr. El-Rufai had brought with him some gadgets to record his interrogation.
The former Minister was released after he provided a surety as demanded by the security agency.
It will be recalled that last week, the SSS summoned Mr. El-Rufai to their headquarters so that he could explain some of his ‘provocative’ remarks about the upcoming 2015 general election. El-Rufai refused to honour the invitation, citing lack of legal grounds. The SSS then stormed his property but failed to produce the arrest warrant.
On Monday morning, El-Rufai had turned himself in accompanied by Rivers State Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Chris Ngige and several family members.

Nasir El-Rufai Still At SSS Office After 12 Hours Of Interrogation

The former FCT minister who was called for questioning concerning a statement he made about 2015 elections is still at the SSS headquarters in Abuja. El-Rufai got there around 9am with some of his party chieftains, Gov. Amaechi, Ngige and his lawyer AU Mustapha, but he is yet to be released by the SSS men questioning him.

Gov. Ameachi was said to have left there around 12pm, with Ngige leaving two hours after. His wife who also went with him, but wasn’t allowed into where he was, had to leave this evening after waiting for several hours. It is said that, the only person left with him at the SSS office, is his lawyer, AU Mustapha. It is still not clear enough of he will be spending the night there or not.

Meet The First Black African Heading Into Space

A 25-year-old DJ from a South African township is set to become the first black African to go into space.

Mandla Maseko is one of 23 people who won a seat on an hour-long sub-orbital trip in 2015. He has beaten about one million other people to get his spot in the team.

Mandla applied for the program, just like millions of contenders from around the world.

At the first stage, on national level, he had to answer a couple of theoretical questions, and to explain why he wanted to go into space.

“My response was: I want to defy the laws of gravity, and go down history as the first black South African in space,” the South-African revealed.



Then he was invited for a series for complicated trials and physical tests. He made it into top three, and was flown to Orlando in Florida on December 1, 2013, where there were 109 competitors from around the globe.

Former Minister El-Rufai Voluntary Turns Himself In To SSS

Following the warrant of arrest purportedly obtained by operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) to effect the arrest of the former minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai this morning voluntarily turns himself in at the headquarters  of the State Security Services in Abuja  .
The SSS had declared Elrufai wanted over a  statement attributed to him stating that the next  (general) election  are  likely to be violent and many people are likely going to die if any attempt was made to rig the election.

Today Mr. ElRufai was accompanied to the "Yellow House" headquarters of the SS about 9:20 am in the company of his lawyer, Bamidele Aturu,  Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Chris Ngige and a few family members.

The SSS operatives did not permit Governor Amaechi, Ngige and ElRufai family members to enter their premises.

 The operatives of SSS last Friday stormed the house of the former minister to arrest him following his refusal to honor the invitation by the headquarters of the Service.                                                  

However, El-Rufai condemned the raid and said he ignored the SSS’s invitation because it was not backed by a valid arrest warrant.                                            

The situation forced the service to obtained a warrant arrest as confirmed by the SSS spokesperson, Ms. Marilyn Ogar. The SSS later accused El-Rufai of hiding, but promised to arrest him.

Ms. Ogar boasted last week , saying,  “Let me promise you one thing, we will arrest him. He can not continue to incite members of the public, causing trouble, and expect to go scot free. No,  Nigerian, no individual is greater that the country.

“We are not puppet, and nobody can reduce us to one. Mallam El-Rufai must be made to answer for his provocative and inflammatory statement. I say it again; no Nigerian is above the law. He will surely be arrested.”

As at the time of filing this report several journalists remain in the vicinity of the offices of State Security Services office.

“Only A Foolish Man Will Vote For Jonathan” – Governor Amaechi

Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, yesterday dared the odds, by visiting the volatile Bori in Ogoniland.

This comes a week after hoodlums disrupted his rally, shooting sporadically into the crowd. Scores were injured after the attack.

It had been reported of how thugs armed with different dangerous weapons were seen loitering around the venue of the Save Rivers Movement rally. Sounds of gunshots were heard by residents as early as 3am. Sources say the action was to scare people away from the event.

Speaking at the rally which eventually held under police protection in and around the area, Amaechi blamed the Police Commissioner, Mr. Joseph Mbu, for allowing militants take up arms against the people.

”The same people (militants) we chased away with the military are back to our state, fuelled by a man called Mbu and his cohorts in Abuja. They do not mind that your lives are important. They want to sacrifice your lives just to earn the office of presidency and the office of governorship,” Amaechi told his supporters at Saints’ Anglican Church premises.

Wife Who Gave Husband Kidney To Save His Life Wants It Back After He Dumped Her

41 years old loving wife Samantha who saved her husband's life by giving him one of her kidneys now wants it back after he dumped her.

Her husband Andy Lamb was dying of renal kidney failure and was only being kept alive by weekly sessions of dialysis until his wife Samantha persuaded him to take one of hers.

The 41-year-old mother-of-one told the Sunday People:

'He needed a new kidney or he would die. He was on dialysis three times a week. I told Andy he should go through with it. He had children from an earlier relationship and he wanted to be there for them.'

But Samantha says as soon as she went through with the operation she regretted it. She believed her
husband was cheating on her - first that he was having an affair with her friend Clare who she confronted and which Andy denies.

The couple tried to save their marriage and Samantha gave her husband one more chance but claims she later discovered he was having sex chats online with women.

The couple got married in 2007 but in 2012, Andy finally left his wife. Samantha said:

'I would definitely go through the operation again - but I wouldn't give the kidney to him. I hate him. If I could, I'd take it back and give it to someone else.'

Andy however denies having an affair with Samantha's friend but admits walking out on her. He said:

'I never wanted her to donate her kidney because it was a big risk. But she insisted and I'll always owe her my life'.
At the time of the operation Andy said:

'Sam's doing all this for me and I'll never get over that. She is just amazing and fantastic. I could never put into words how I feel about this. If this happens she will have given me the gift of life.'

I Will Never Play Same Sex Roles On Screen - OC Ukeje

Some Nollywood actors became popular after they played same sex roles in movies. But multiple award wnning actor OC Ukeje says he won't do that, not even for an Oscar award.
Here's what he said in an interview with YNaija:

• Is there anything you wouldn’t do on screen?

Absolutely. I do not think I can play same sex roles

• Even for Oscar glory?

Even then. I know that right now, it is easy to say but from where I stand, it is a tall order for me. It is just my personal value system and much as money is good and glory is great, at the end of the day, they are not everything. The most important thing  is your own peace of mind and the ability to live with yourself afterwards. I may like to compare myself with my international counterparts but the truth is I was raised in a different culture. They are a lot more liberal.

• What about nudity?

Also as far as nudity goes, I have seen films where there was nudity and that is the last thing you remember about the film because it was done very, very professionally. First of all, I don’t think anyone wants to see my black butt on screen because in the business of film making aesthetics are very important. The picture has to be fine. Darker skinned people just do not play as well nude, on screen.

• Wow! Isn’t that subscribing to some form of racist mentality?

I don’t think so. Have you seen Will Smith naked before?

• No but I think that is only because he does not do those kinds of movies. Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Don Cheadle have all done nudity at some point.

Not complete nudity. I am not subscribing to any skin colour superiority but I think that in film, everyone wants a beautiful picture. For the last film I made, because I have spots on my back, the director wanted me totally covered up so every time they needed me bare-chested, they used make up to cover all the spots. The percentage of open-minded people is very negligible. I was in ‘Hoodrush’ recently and when some promotional pictures were released, my hairy body was a big topic on social media, with people insisting it was not a pretty sight. Because of that, I have learnt to shave down to my legs.
