BLOG
A blog of one’s own is 100% a way to make it in fashion! You can create your own opportunities through your blog, but you have to put your heart and energy into it.
PUBLICIST
Here’s another route into fashion. Be part of the team that plans the show for fashion houses. You will soon find yourself planning photo shoots with clients, and you can make a real different to someone’s career.
YOU’RE IN THE DOOR, YOU’VE GOT AN INTERVIEW. HERE ARE SOME GREAT TIPS
- Go in there looking like you already work there, try to emulate those you are likely to work for.
- Talk intelligently about your successes and be positive in the way you talk about your background and interests.
- Be direct about what you’re looking to do and why. The more you know about what you want to do the more likely you are to get it. People who are vague will have a tougher time finding a job.
- Be like-able. Smile a lot. Connect with the person who’s interviewing you. You have to be the kind of person they want to work with.
- Be interested in something other than fashion. You don’t want to work in the business only because you’re a shopaholic.
