Man, 55, impregnates His 17 year old Daughter, defiles another, 9

A Benin City-based housewife, simply identified as Stella, has narrated how Osaro, her 55 year-old husband, defiled their nine year-old daughter on Christmas day and has impregnated another, 17.
Stella who narrated her ordeal to journalists at Ogida police station in Benin where the suspected incest is being detained by the police, said he had earlier impregnated his 17 year-old step daughter whom she had in a previous relationship.

She disclosed she deserted her matrimonial home with her children when he committed the incest-taboo by impregnating the older daughter but later decided to return after he claimed to have repented of his sins.

Northern Farmers To Raise N5b For Buhari-Osinbajo Presidential Campaign

A group of yam farmers across some northern states in the country have pledged to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari’s campaign in the 2015 general elections with N5 billion. The group disclosed this in a statement made available to NAN in Jos on yesterday.

Rev. Jacob Musa, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the farmers under the name “Buhari-Osinbajo Presidential Appeal Campaign Fund (BOPCAF), said that farmers from 10 states of the federation were planning the fund raiser.

Farmers from Taraba, Nasarawa, Plateau, Adamawa, Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Niger and Kaduna states as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, would feature at the occasion.

Missing AirAsia Flight Crashed In Sea, Rescuers Find 40 Bodies

At least 40 bodies have been recovered from the sea in the search for missing AirAsia Flight QZ8501. The bodies were spotted along with debris floating in the Java Sea off the Indonesian part of Borneo, in one of the search zones for the plane.

The airline spokesperson assured that rescuers will continue to recover bodies until none was left in the sea. Meanwhile the AirAsia CEO, Tony Fernandes have also spoken about the ill-fated aircraft. "My heart is filled with sadness for all the families involved in QZ 8501. On behalf of AirAsia my condolences," he tweeted.

The Airbus A320-200, carrying 162 people from Surabaya in Indonesia to Singapore, disappeared on Sunday.

Refugee Father Uses Daughter As Collateral For N600,000 Loan

This is the story of a fisherman, Edet Okon who had fled his ancestral home in Efut Obot Ikot in the ceded Bakassi Peninsula in March 2013 when Cameroonian gendermanes attacked the village in which a lot of indigenes lost their lives and scores sustained varying degrees of life-threatening injuries. This led Edet Okon and his family to a dusty village in Akwa Ikot Eyo Edem, Cross Rivers State where there story even went worse.

Shortly after they began living as a refugee there, Edet discovered his first daughter was down with blood cancer and he didn’t want her to juts die unattended too. So he decided to use his 12-year old daughter, Mary as collateral to borrow N600,000 from a man in calabar. The girl later died, and 19months after, he is yet to pay the said money, which has made Mary to be living in agony with her father’s creditor. Buhari Support Group Raises N85m in Jigawa

THE All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Buhari Support Group, BSG, has realized over N85 million in Support of Major-General Muhammadu Buhari’s presidential campaign for the 2015 election, which he is running as APC’s presidential candidate.

The money was donated by APC and Buhari’s supporters at the fund-raising where his scratch cards were launched.

During the launching it was also announced that a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stalwart in the state dolled out N10 million in support of General Buhari.

Missing AirAsia Jet May Be At Bottom Of The Sea, says Indonesia searcher

As the search for Air Asia flight 8501 enters its second day, Singaporean officials are speculating that the aircraft probably crashed into the ocean.
Although no conclusive evidence has been put forward to back this speculation, search operations on focusing their search on the sea.
The AirAsia flight 8501 departed Indonesia and was bound for Singapore when the pilot decided to alter his course because of some bad weather.
After ascending to about 38,000 feet, the aircraft disappeared from the radar and lost contact with the radio tower.

Lagos DPO Quietly Dies In Office On Christmas Day

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ijede Police Station, Ikorodu, Nwaoha Uzoma has quietly died in his office on Christmas day. Uzoma who spent the night at work has been ill, but recovered few days ago according to junior officers before he was found dead in his office.

No one knew the DPO had died, but when they noticed he didn’t come out of his office all day and wouldn’t pick his calls or reply text messages, they had to forcefully open the door, before they found his lifeless body on the floor.

Uzoma was formerly heading the Anthony Police Division, before he was posted to Ijede, early this month. His corpse has since been deposited at a private mortuary.

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, MFR, has condemned in its entirety, a story credited to him by an online medium, that he endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial flag bearer, Sen. Simeon Ajibola.

According to the spokesperson of the monarch and Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Alhaji Salihu Woru Mohammed described the story as grossly irresponsible, concocted, inciting and an attempt to drag the Emir into partisan politics. Stating that the Emir is a father to all political parties in the State and will not associate with any political party, but all.

A reception of any political party in the palace does not mean endorsement, he concluded.

AirAsia QZ8501 Plane With 160 Passengers Reported Missing

AirAsia Indonesia plane traveling from the Indonesian City of Surabaya to Singapore with about 160 passengers aboard has gone missing.

Reports has it that the plane lost contact over the Java Sea, between the islands of Kalimantan and Java. The plane had asked for an unusual route after it complained that the weather had been cloudy before it lost .

President Jonathan Visits Babangida At Home In Minna

President Jonathan was in Minna , Niger State yesterday to visit Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, a former military head of state who returned not too long ago from a medical trip abroad.

Shortly after the meeting, the president told journalists that he was in Minna to greet “his father” who recently returned to the country from a medical trip abroad. How FCT Minister’s Spokesman Was Shot At Close Range On Christmas Eve

Nosike Ogbuenyi, the special assistant on media to the FCT minister, Sen Bala Mohammed escaped death on Christmas Eve. Nosike was said to be returning from work around 7pm on the 24th of December, when he was accosted by robbers along Umaru Yar’Adua who shot him at close range.

His official car, two Samsung handsets, one Window 7 HP Laptop, two hard disc memory devices, three USB devices, one large photo book, bank documents, two ATM cards and office records were all taking from him. Luckily for Nosike, he survived the gunshot wound and he is currently at an undisclosed hospital where he is receiving treatment.

ISIS Plans To Recruit Fighters In Nigeria, Federal Government Warns!!

The federal government has warned that agents of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) are scouting in the country to recruit Nigerian youths as fighters for the terrorist group.

The Coordinator of the National Information Centre and Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Mike Omeri, who made this known in a statement says intelligence reports shows that three South African nationals were among some of the fighters recruited by ISIS agents operating under the guise of humanitarian support groups for refugees and orphans in Nigeria.

“Nigerians are known the world over to be selfless, hospitable and humanitarian. We believe in the brotherhood of all mankind and no one should be allowed to take advantage of these virtues or turn them into vices. Nigerians are therefore advised to report to security agencies without hesitation, any group or non-governmental agency whose overt or covert activities are suspicious or have tendencies to jeopardise the innocence of our youths and the security of our people wherever they are in the world,” he said.

Army Bans Vehicle Movement For 5 Days In Borno

The Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, Borno State have announced that starting from tomorrow, Christmas Eve, no vehicle would be allowed to move in Maiduguri and some parts of Borno in order to avert major attacks planned by boko haram insurgents this season.


The ban will start from 6:00pm tomorrow, 24th December to 7:00am on Sunday 28th December 2014, a statement released by the Army said.
