My Landlord removed my roof, damaged N5.2m property, tenant Complains to court

According to Easynews, a tenant, Ernest Nzewi, on Monday told a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, how his landlord removed the roof over his head in a bid to eject him. Nzewi said he contacted his landlord, Mr Okunola Oshisanya, on June 5, 2012, following a downpour which destroyed some asbestos sheets at his apartment at No. 8, James Robertson St., Surulere. “He came on June 6, 2012 to see the roof being repaired.
Two hours later, someone came with a letter from the landlord, giving me 24 hours to vacate the apartment. “On June 11, 2012, the landlord sent some people, including his son to the house to remove the roofing sheets. “That same day, rain fell and destroyed property worth N5.2million,’’ he said. The men (Six) were arraigned on June 18, 2012, on a four-count charge bordering on willful damage and breaking-in. The accused are Adebola Oshisanya, 35; Musa Akanji, 29; Dele Akinlosan, 35; Baba Sule, 40; Yusuf Ogundele, 23; and Saheed Amuda, 35. They all pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of N50, 000 each with a surety each in like sum. Earlier, the prosecutor, Cpl. Gbenga Salami said the accused went to the residence of Nzewi and destroyed property worth N5.2 million. Salami said the offences contravened Sections 166, 305, 348 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The Magistrate, Mrs F.B. Lawal, adjourned the case to May 19 for cross-examination.

The musical exploits of Oliver De Coque, Sir Warrior, Oriental Brothers, Okonkwo Adigwe, Zeal Onyia, E.C Arinze, Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe, Bright Chimezie, Cardinal Rex Jim Lawson e.t.c are huge but despite this, all of them only recorded regional success with the exception of Victor Uwaifo with his Joromi hit song and Nico Mbarga with Sweet Mother. They could not conquer the language barrier and by so doing, could not have a share in the Lagos music market which is the major market to go mainstream. The fact that most of these artistes are based in the eastern part of Nigeria, also halted their appeal to the mainstream audience.

Nollywood Actor, Chidi Mokeme Reveals Why He Lives Separately From Wife

Nollywood actor, Chidi Mokeme and his wife, Jean, have been living separately since they wedded in April 28, 2012. While Jean has remained in her US base, Chidi Mokeme still reside in Nigeria.

In a recent interview with Yes Magazine Chidi had this to say:

Well, when I met my wife, this was our default setting. Let me put it like that. Our default setting was that I live in Nigeria and my wife lives in America and then we started a relationship and decided to take the relationship further and decided we were gonna be man and wife. So, having taken that decision and having crossed that level, the next thing is to find a way to ease into a location. Everybody knows that you don’t just pack your bag and move in one day. There are things that need to be sorted, relocation needs to be sorted. So, we are taking our time with it. But then again, by virtue of my job, I have a pretty much very flexible timing. I own my time, I decide when to work, when not to work. So, really, I can be with my wife anytime, every time I so desire and it makes it easy. If I work 9-5, then we will always have to wait for when someone was on leave the whole year round, if I want, just to be with my wife.

Bomb Found Inside First Bank as Customers Flee for Their Life

Tragedy was averted on Tuesday as a security guard attached to a branch of First Bank Plc in Osogbo, Osun State discovered an explosive substance wrapped in a polythene bag right inside the banking hall.

Immediately the discovery was made, bank workers and customers all took to their heels, with many of them leaving their hard earned money behind. It was indeed a dramatic situation as Nigerians struggle to pass through the bank's security door, all at the same time.

As soon the information about the bomb spread, many shop owners in the area hurriedly closed their shops, to avoid long story, while some even left their shops wide open and ran for safety. No one wants to die!

Officials of Police Anti-Bomb Squad were immediately deployed in the bank...
They were able to detonate the bomb successfully and cordoned off Station Road, where the bank is located.

Osun State government said it suspected foul play in the episode. A statement by the government said:
“We are compelled to call on the security agencies to get to the root of this strange discovery in Osogbo and tell the whole world how this device found its way into a banking hall.

“Usually impregnable fortification of banks through their various screening machines which detect metals. To be specific, we suspect a deliberate foul play in the antics of those who desire to create a sense of insecurity in this state.”

The government assured residents of their safety and urged everyone to go about their legitimate activities.

Pastor Arrested For Conducting Virginity Test on Member With Finger

ABEOKUTA — The Ogun State Police Command said yesterday, that it had arrested a pastor identified as  Adekunle Kayode, 34, for conducting virginity test on  a 20-year-old female member of his church in Abeokuta, the state capital, using his finger.
Kayode, a pastor in charge of Jesus Is The Way Evangelistic Ministry, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta, was reportedly arrested by detectives attached to Kemta Division  in his house, 3, Okeyidi Street, Abeokuta.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement said the pastor’s arrest was carried out when the victim narrated her ordeal to her father who then informed the police of the incident.
The pastor was reported to have been engaging in the act in the church weekly in a bid to confirm the girl’s virginity status.
According to the PPRO, “there was also a drama when the victim received ‘holy spirit’ which propelled her to reveal the misdeeds of the pastor who has indulged in this ungodly act for years.
“Another suspect arrested for similar offence  is one Onatade Oluwasegun, 23, of 4, Sheriff Onatade Street, Obantoko for conspiring with the said pastor to use the victim for a ritual purpose.
“The father of the victim alleged that the duo were fond of dipping their fingers in the victim’s private part even when she was menstruating for reasons best known to them.
“She also claimed that the pastor recently confirmed her  virginity status when she was to take part in a church programme.
“The victim has also claimed that Oluwasegun used a charm while attempting to rape  her as directed by the pastor possibly for a ritual but she miraculously escaped.
“Meantime,  the police have recovered the charm from the pastor within the church premises.
“The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, Ikemefuna Okoye, has directed that the matter be transferred to the SCID, Eleweran for further investigation.”
Man beats daughter to death
Also, a man,  Bisi Onigbogbo of J6 Camp, Ogbere, in  Ijebu-East Local Government Area of Ogun State  allegedly beat his 12-year-old daughter, Yemi Onigbogbo,  to death while trying to correct her for some misbehaviour, on Monday
According to the Police spokesman, shortly after the incident, the  suspect ran away immediately he noticed that the young girl was dead.
He said: “Efforts are being intensified by the police with the help of the community members to get him apprehended.”

Skales Reveals Why He Left EME

In a recent interview with Ademola Olonilua, Raoul John Njen-Njeng popularly known as Skales revealed why he left EME.


What happened between you and EME?
My contract expired and we both agreed that we would go our separate ways. I decided I wanted to be on my own, do my music and take my own decision. Nothing happened; people are just speculating and spreading rumours. We did not fight. Right now, I am working on my album, rebranding and taking Skales to the next level.

When you say you are rebranding, does it involve you being a part of Timaya’s record label?
Timaya is my buddy; we are always together. He is like my mentor, I take advice from him and I call him my big daddy. He is a very close friend of mine, we are always together and people would always speculate that I moved into his house. It is because we are close and together all the time. That is why people came up with the insinuation that I moved into his house. It is just all about music between me and him; music and friendship.

Did you move into Timaya’s house?
No, I did not move into his house. We are friends and he has a studio in his house. I do a lot of recordings there. People would always talk.

Would you be signed to his record label?
We do not know for now but like I said, I am working on just Skales, I am focused on just Skales and taking the brand to the next level. We do a lot of music together because we are always together.

Chris Brown Has Been Diagnosed with Mental illness

Chris Brown has been diagnosed as bi-polar, suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and self-medicating inappropriately. This was revealed during his last court appearance...

He appeared in court yesterday for a probation hearing and a letter from his rehab facility gave the singer high marks for improvement but suggested he remain in treatment.

The letter, obtained by E! News, reads in part,
"Mr. Brown will also require close supervision by his treating physician in order to ensure his bipolar mental health condition remains stable. It is not uncommon for patients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Bipolar II to use substances to self-medicate their biomedical mood swings and trauma triggers."

Why we created Alingo animated Series – P-Square

Earlier last week, Twin singing sensation, Psquare, introduced a family-oriented cartoon series titled The Alingos. The novel project is being produced by  P-Classic Entertainment, an entertainment company, owned by the P-Square brothers.

Explaining the idea behind the concept, Peter says the project is being conceptualised and produced in Nigeria with no foreign input whatsoever.

“We have relentlessly been working on this and unprecedented family-oriented animated series. Since our outfit seeks to produce television contents, animation, discover and groom young musicians, it was only natural that we announce our arrival with this project.

 It will initially run as a weekly web series and then on TV,” he boasts.

He adds that fans will get to watch the ‘Unlimited’ animated video as well as The Alingos (when it hits the screens) by first downloading the P-Square app (P2) due for release next week.

“The app will contain an archive of exclusive pictures of P-Square, gallery of latest musical videos, including all the videos from past albums, compilation of all P-Square’s songs, behind-the-scene videos and  awards. Other features include concert videos, tickets, events and tour dates as well as their flagship project The Alingos series,” he explains.

Kennis Music Star Artist, Jaywon has signed a deal with PZ Cussons Company. The Kogi State born singer’s deal with CoolWorld Electrical Retail Stores, the retail business unit of PZ Cussons Company was confirmed by the singer’s manager Shola Ijanusi.

According to “Olawande Alaran”, An Executive of the company,  Jaywon was picked by popular demand from their customers Nationwide.

PZ CoolWorld Electrical is the retail business unit of PZ Cussons Company. Established in 2008, with a Victoria Island store as the flagship, they currently have six (6) stores in Nigeria and five (5) in Ghana. They plan to open more stores in the next 12 months, while PZ Cussons has 26 depots nationwide.
