Another Plane Crash Averted In Abuja - Medview Airline

Barely a month after the Associated Airlines plane crash, another air disaster was averted at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja on Monday as a Med-View Airlines aircraft from Lagos suddenly took to the air again at the point of landing in Abuja.

Puch reports that the airline Flight VL2104 which had about 150 passengers on board took off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos at noon and was scheduled to land in Abuja at about 1.05pm.

The pilot had already announced final descent into Abuja and asked all passengers and cabin crew to fasten their seat belts only for him to suddenly take off to the air again with barely 30 seconds to touch ground.
Definitely, his action caused big panic, commotion among the passengers who bursted into prayers, yells to know what was happening, especially when the plane entered into turbulent weather on air.

Man Arrested for Punching A Horse

Well,he was mad at the horse.

Korey Jerelds, 30, was arrested after he allegedly punched a police horse in the neck several times following a loud verbal disturbance.

According to WTSP, an officer on a horseback was dispersing a crowd when Jerelds "yelled an expletive about the horse and took a fighting stance before punching the animal."

Jerelds now faces charges of interfering with or obstructing a police dog or horse.

The horse, whose name is Mr. George II, was not harmed in the incident, according to WESH.

If you thought skinny pants were a new trend, think again -- they've been around in Iceland since the 17th century.

Legend has it that you'd be gifted with an endless money supply if you were to flay a corpse from the waist down and wear the skin -- hair, genitalia and all -- as pants, io9 reports. Icelandic mystics called them nábrók, or "necropants."

Many news outlets are inaccurately reporting that Strandagaldur, The Museum of Icelandic Sorcery & Witchcraft owns the last pair of necropants. In actuality the museum has a (terrifying) replica, seen below.

The Strandagaldur website explains the intricate procedure for fashioning skin pants from a corpse:

A coin must be stolen from a poor widow and placed in the scrotum along with the magical sign, nábrókarstafur, written on a piece of paper. Consequently the coin will draw money into the scrotum so it will never be empty, as long as the original coin is not removed.

To ensure salvation the owner has to convince someone else to overtake the pants and step into each leg as soon as he gets out of it. The necropants will thus keep the money-gathering nature for generations.

17-Year-Old Girl Kills Herself After Parents Ban Her From Facebook

The parents of a 17-year-old Indian girl who killed herself late Wednesday after they barred her from Facebook, have said that they are in deep shock at her death and simply wanted her to concentrate more on her studies.
Aishwarya S. Dahiwal, a second-year college student from Parbhani in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, had asked her parents’ consent to log on to Facebook Wednesday night, police investigating the case said.
An argument ensued during which Ms. Dahiwal was reproached by her parents for “paying less attention to her studies,” using social networking sites and making long phone calls to friends, G.H. Lemgude, the investigating police officer in Parbhani told India Real Time Friday.

About a year ago, I watched my friend go through the harrowing ordeal of trying to recover from rape; it was an experience that changed her life....and mine as well. Its easier to shrug off certain painful experiences when they happen to faceless names you neither know nor have a relationship with. Most of us don't really understand how horrific such things could be until it strikes close to home; a friend, a loved one, a family member.


One thing I haven't yet understood, despite my numerous pondering, is what the average rapist gains from inflicting such violence on another human being. How can a human being gain pleasure in debasing a lady while watching her go through hell in the process? I know there are all kinds of psychological, sociological and even spiritual explanations for why the mind of a man could be so warped as to engage in such dastardly acts. However, in the face of the reality of the effects on the victim, I must admit that my mind still has great difficulty in grasping any kind of explanation to justify such behaviour.

Everyday I see headlines of rape cases and I'm seriously grieved. Not just for the victims but also for our nation because it seems to me that this phenomenom has become an insatiable monster eating away at the fabric of our society and little is being done to curb its rampage. If you aren't fed up, I definitely am. Which brings me to the most important question of all: How do we stop this madness and help those who have been affected by it?

The key to dealing effectively with any issue is to first of all see it for what it is. Rape is one of if not the most brutal and atrocious gender-based form of violence that can be committed against women. Women are violated not just physically but also psychologically and apart from that, the devastating effects on rape survivors leave behind a complicated tangle of problems that make dealing with it a whole lot harder.

We’ve always loved most of her black pieces, but this year, she gave white, blues, grey, navy, yellows and lilac, with very defined shapes and a couple of asymmetrical pieces. We caught up with Bridget herself after the show who explained that her collection was inspired by being able to cherish what you have so she took 12 of her best pieces and reworked them. Even with old pieces being reworked, she’s managed to give us very unique and edgy pieces. Bridget, we just cherish everything you design.

According to TMZ, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are going to sign a prenup. Read their report below;

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have already agreed … they will keep their assets separate by drawing up a prenup before they tie the knot.

Multiple sources connected with the couple tell us … both Kanye and Kim are committed to the marriage and they are NOT signing a prenup because they’re worried the relationship might fall apart.  But they’re both business people and know given their vast wealth it’s just the smart thing to do to have a prenup.

Kim especially understands the importance of a prenup because her late father, attorney Robert Kardashian, told her over and over about the necessity of having clear contracts when it came to money.

We’re also told … even though they will keep their assets separate, they will have a fat joint account for living expenses that will probably approach the gross national product of a small country.

As for how much they have … some reports place Kim’s wealth at $40 mil and Kanye’s at $90 mil.  But we’re told Kim’s actually worth more than Kanye.

Nigerian Soldier Tells His Side Of The Story-"Why I Beat My 14-Year-Old Daughter To Death"

Unless by divine intervention, John Udin, a retired soldier may likely spend the rest of his life in jail if he doesn’t go to the gallows for clubbing his 14- year old daughter, Glory to death.
John 72, from Jesse, Warri in Delta State was discharged from the Nigeria Army in 1999 as a corporal. He has 11 children from three wives. Two of the wives and seven children are in Jesse, while he resides at 28 Adewale Street, Iba New Site, Ojo, Lagos with the youngest wife, Comfort and four children in a two-room apartment.
Last Tuesday, what started as minor family quarrel turned fatal. On that fateful evening, while Comfort, Glory and the three other children were preparing for evening church service, it was alleged that John came to the front of their compound and sat down. As his family members wanted to leave for church, it was further alleged that he blocked the entrance and said they won’t go because they lack the character of good Christians.

Couple stab neighbour on the mouth over dustbin

Wonders shall never end....The police in Lagos have arrested a couple, Mr and Mrs Solomon, for allegedly stabbing their neighbour, Miss Happiness Andrew, 25, during a quarrel over dustbin.

The victim, who has been hospitalised, was allegedly stabbed in the neck and face with a broken bottle and with a knife following a little misunderstanding.

Hapiness fell down almost unconscious as blood gushed profusely from her neck and face.She was rushed to Ajowa Hospital, Araromi, in the night immediately after the incident occurred where the doctor and nurses in the hospital battled to save her life.

It was gathered that the attack happened at their residence at 4, Modupe Ayode Street, Araromi area of Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

Hater & Losers’ – Charly Boy

The other day I was at the departure hall at Nnamdi Azikewe airport waiting for my flight. I was tucked away at a corner, from people’s preying eyes, at least so I thought. My flight was delayed so I had about 2hrs to kill. As I reached into my backpack to get my iPad and keep myself busy till boarding time, a man with two teen girls approached me; they were all beaming with the most enchanting smiles I have ever seen.  “Charly these are my daughters, they’ve been worrying me that they want to take pictures with you” I obliged, as their father took position to capture a golden moment for his two teen daughters.
Before anyone could say Charly, the boy in me jumped out. There I was clowning around, making funny faces, as the girls caught the monkeying around bug. And to everyone’s entertainment and amusement, we turned the whole departure hall into a photo studio and a runway, hummm! Oh boy come and see. All of a sudden most of the waiting passengers, teens, youths, mums and dads started to lineup for their own Kodak moments. Na who find trouble now?

ASUU: Police halt public protest by Michael Okpara University lecturers

The university lecturers wants the federal government to implement a 2009 agreement.
A detachment of anti-riot policemen on Friday put an end to the planned public demonstration by lecturers at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, in Abia.

The protest was organised by members of the university’s branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The lecturers had gathered on the campus for the take off of the protest.

The teachers, who were dressed in black T-shirts, marched from the university pavilion to the campus main gate, where they were stopped by the policemen.

Michael Jackson regained the title of the highest-earning dead celebrity in the past year, easily surpassing Elvis Presley and cartoonist Charles Schulz, Forbes magazine said on Wednesday.

After being pushed into second place by Elizabeth Taylor last year, Jackson, who died in 2009, was back on top with estimated earnings of $160 million in the 12 months from October 2012 to 2013.

"He earned the bulk of his bucks from two Cirque du Soleil shows, his Mijac Music catalog, recorded music sales and his half of the Sony/ATV publishing empire - which includes the copyright to hits by the Beatles, Lady Gaga, Eminem and Taylor Swift, among others," Forbes said.

Award-Winning Music video director jailed for 90years after raping & impregnating his 6 daughters

Award Winning Music director,55 year old Aswad Ayinde has been sentenced to 90 years in jail after being found guilty in the second of five expected trials in which he is accused of repeatedly raping his six daughters, resulting in six children being fathered.His former wife said he was trying to create a ‘pure family bloodline’ by impregnating his daughters. He even claimed during a pre-trial hearing before the first trial that ‘the world was going to end, and it was just going to be him and his offspring and that he was chosen.’
In this latest trial, it was revealed that Mr. Ayinde began having intercourse with his second daughter from the time she eight-years-old, impregnating her four times.

The sexual assaults happened for almost 30 years until Mr. Ayinde and his wife separated, officials said. They occurred in numerous homes across northern New Jersey, even while the family was under watch of state child welfare officials, according to NBC New York. Some of the rapes even took place in an abandoned funeral home.
The depraved father also beat and starved the girls using wooden boards and steel-toed boots for even ‘minor transgressions,’ Ayinde’s wife testified at the first trial.
Some of the children Ayinde fathered with his daughters were born in the home, with at least two babies who died in the home having been buried without notifying authorities or obtaining birth certificates, NBC New York reported.
Mr. Ayinde also fathered 12 additional children with an additional three women, according to court records
Ayinde’s tortured daughters were home schooled and isolated from other children, so as to keep the family secrets hidden, the station added.
With his wife too afraid to confront him, Mr. Ayinde carried out his evil plan without hindrance even while directing the music video for the Fugees 1996 breakout hit ‘Killing Me Softly, for which he won  ‘Best R&B Video’ at the 1996 MTV Music Video Awards.

KTN Journalist Mohammed Ali Mistaken For A Terrorist

An award-winning investigative journalist says he is in trouble because of his name. Mohammed Ali – known for his explosive exposes on KTN’s investigative TV programme, Jicho Pevu – told The Nairobian he has been mistaken several times for a terrorist because he shares a name with a wanted man.

He said whenever he travels out of the country, he has to be cleared by senior immigration and security officials because of his “status.”

The name Mohammed Ali is listed on the international watchlist as a terrorist.

The famed journalist popularly known as Moha came to know about this when he was arrested and detained for over an hour at an airport in Europe when his name raised a red alert.

“That was the first time I felt really humiliated on international soil,” said Moha.
