Dencia / Lupita in Battle of Bleaching Black Skins

Lupita was at Essence Magazine’s seventh annual Women in Hollywood luncheon and gave a moving speech on black beauty..The likes of Oprah,Kerry Washington ,Brandy and top black actresses were present…..

I wrote down this speech that I had no time to practice so this will be the practicing session.Thank you Alfre, for such an amazing, amazing introduction and celebration of my work. And thank you very much for inviting me to be a part of such an extraordinary community.

I am surrounded by people who have inspired me, women in particular whose presence on screen made me feel a little more seen and heard and understood. That it is ESSENCE that holds this event celebrating our professional gains of the year is significant, a beauty magazine that recognizes the beauty that we not just possess but also produce.

I want to take this opportunity to talk about beauty, Black beauty, dark beauty. I received a letter from a girl and I’d like to share just a small part of it with you: “Dear Lupita,” it reads, “I think you’re really lucky to be this Black but yet this successful in Hollywood overnight. I was just about to buy Dencia’s Whitenicious cream to lighten my skin when you appeared on the world map and saved me.”

My heart bled a little when I read those words, I could never have guessed that my first job out of school would be so powerful in and of itself and that it would propel me to be such an image of hope in the same way that the women of The Color Purple were to me.

I remember a time when I too felt unbeautiful. I put on the TV and only saw pale skin, I got teased and taunted about my night-shaded skin. And my one prayer to God, the miracle worker, was that I would wake up lighter-skinned. The morning would come and I would be so excited about seeing my new skin that I would refuse to look down at myself until I was in front of a mirror because I wanted to see my fair face first. And every day I experienced the same disappointment of being just as dark as I was the day before. I tried to negotiate with God, I told him I would stop stealing sugar cubes at night if he gave me what I wanted, I would listen to my mother’s every word and never lose my school sweater again if he just made me a little lighter. But I guess God was unimpressed with my bargaining chips because He never listened.

And when I was a teenager my self-hate grew worse, as you can imagine happens with adolescence. My mother reminded me often that she thought that I was beautiful but that was no conservation, she’s my mother, of course she’s supposed to think I am beautiful. And then…Alek Wek. A celebrated model, she was dark as night, she was on all of the runways and in every magazine and everyone was talking about how beautiful she was. Even Oprah called her beautiful and that made it a fact. I couldn’t believe that people were embracing a woman who looked so much like me, as beautiful. My complexion had always been an obstacle to overcome and all of a sudden Oprah was telling me it wasn’t. It was perplexing and I wanted to reject it because I had begun to enjoy the seduction of inadequacy. But a flower couldn’t help but bloom inside of me, when I saw Alek I inadvertently saw a reflection of myself that I could not deny.

Now, I had a spring in my step because I felt more seen, more appreciated by the far away gatekeepers of beauty. But around me the preference for my skin prevailed, to the courters that I thought mattered I was still unbeautiful. And my mother again would say to me you can’t eat beauty, it doesn’t feed you and these words plagued and bothered me; I didn’t really understand them until finally I realized that beauty was not a thing that I could acquire or consume, it was something that I just had to be

And what my mother meant when she said you can’t eat beauty was that you can’t rely on how you look to sustain you. What is fundamentally beautiful is compassion for yourself and for those around you. That kind of beauty enflames the heart and enchants the soul. It is what got Patsey in so much trouble with her master, but it is also what has kept her story alive to this day. We remember the beauty of her spirit even after the beauty of her body has faded away.

And so I hope that my presence on your screens and in the magazines may lead you, young girl, on a similar journey. That you will feel the validation of your external beauty but also get to the deeper business of being beautiful inside.

There is no shame in Black beauty.

Amazon Lists Chinua Achebe’s “Things Fall Apart” On their 100 Lifetime Books

Amazon released a list of 100 books to read in one’s lifetime and late Nigerian author Chinua Achebe’s masterpiece novel “Things Fall Apart” was on it. This comes as no surprise but is still seen as an honour for the late author who died last year, March 21 2013. “Things Fall Apart” was listed under Tradition V Change.

The list by Amazon which also includes great literary works like George Orwell’s “1984″, Charles Dickens‘ “Great Expectation”, Isak Dinesen‘s “Out of Africa”, Malcolm X and Alex Haley‘s “The Autobiography of Malcom X”, Anne Frank’s “The Diary of Anne Frank”, and much more.

Amazon.com is the world’s largest online retailer. The list was compiled by Amazon Books editorial team, and contains a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction books. The Amazon Books editorial team plans to audit the list regularly in order to ensure it always stays culturally relevant.

Editorial Director of Print and Kindle Books at Amazon.com, Sara Nelson, states “We listed the books alphabetically by title because our assumption is that no book is more important than another.” She said the list was created through taxing months of deliberation among her team, though no mathematical algorithms were used.

Things Fall Apart

Things Fall Apart was published in 1958 and the book is considered by critics and book lovers to be one of the most important pieces of literature to come out of Africa. The 50th anniversary of the 200-odd page novel was celebrated all over the world in 2008 with festivals, readings, symposia, concerts etc. The novel has been translated to more than 50 languages and has sold over 10 million copies. It is taught not just in literature classes but in history and anthropology departments in colleges and universities across the globe.

The book tells the deceptively simple story of Okonkwo, a “strong man” whose life is dominated by the fear of failure. As a teenager he brought honour to his village by throwing the hitherto unbeatable Amalinze the Cat in a wrestling match. His fame spread through the nine villages of Umuofia and even beyond like harmattan bushfire, but he remained troubled that his father Unoka was a debtor and a failure. As if to compound matters, Okonkwo notices weakness in his own son, Nwoye, and he comes to the sad conclusion that raging fire only ends up as impotent ash.

Church gives $100 each in envelopes to church members for attending service

The Holyhill Church which holds her service at Immaculate Hotel & Suites, Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja on Sunday gave all those who worshiped at the church a white envelope containing $100 which is about N16,000.

At the close of service, while the closing prayer was being said, the white envelop was shared to all the congregants.

According to a members of the church the reason why they were all given monetary gifts was that lately the Pastor of the church, Pastor Sunday Ogidigbo has been teaching a series on money and a member of the church felt moved to sow a seed into everyone’s life.

The church Philosophy recognizes that the foundation of true greatness is embedded in the love of God and His kingdom and its people are renowned for their good character, sense of purpose, demonstration of the power of God and their material prosperity.

Mixed reactions have however trailed the donation as some were concerned about the source of the money and why the said donor decided to donate $100 each to the entire congregation.

RIHANNA & SERENA WILLIAMS FOUGHT OVER DRAKE AT HIS PARIS CONCERT

Rihanna was allegedly confronted by Serena Williams at Drake’s Paris concert on Feb. 24, and it wasn’t pretty. Both ladies are known for having a ‘friends with benefits’ relationship with Drake, so maybe Drizzy should have thought twice before inviting them both to the same show!

Serena Williams, 32, noticed Rihanna, 26, backstage at Drake’s Paris concert — and she wasn’t very happy to see her. Serena confronted her ex’s new flame and they exchanged some not-so-friendly words, according to a new report.

Serena Williams & Rihanna Fight — Are They Battling Over Drake’s Love?
Serena wasn’t pleased to see the “Diamonds” singer hanging out with Drake in the City of Love. The tennis star approached Rihanna backstage and had it out with her, according to MediaTakeOut. Luckily, nothing physical happened, and Rihanna’s security team was standing by in case anything truly nasty went down.

Unfortunately for Serena, the night got even worse. Drake chose to leave the show with Rihanna, and the rumored lovebirds spent the night living it up at the popular nightclub Club 79 — and of course, Serena was not invited.

Serena was quick to express her dismay in a cryptic message via Twitter. So sad!

This 15-Year-Old Boy Was Exchanged For Two Bags Of Rice

This is so shocking!!! A 15-year old boy, Seun Aderinwale was successfully exchanged for two bags of rice valued at N20,000 on Monday by a yet-be-identified man.

The incident happened at Igando in Alimosho area of Lagos State.
It was gathered that the man had gone to purchase 2 bags of rice from a shop owned by one Iya Ibrahim but he didn't have money so he proposed to drop Seun, an aluminium apprentice, as collateral and return later to pay. Iya Ibrahim was not available that time so her son Ibrahim who was in the shop agreed to the proposal.

She was surprised to find Seun in her shop when she returned later to learn about the exchange. The 15-year-old boy was held hostage as the unidentified man failed to show up until later in the evening when the pastor of his church, a Celestial Church of Christ around the area, saw him at the shop looking despondent.

He was later freed after the pastor, known simply as Oluso in the neighborhood, settled the matter. He asked the shop owner to take responsibility for one of the stolen bags of rice while Seun’s father, a co-worker with him in the church, should pay for the other bag of rice.

When Seun was questioned on how he met the fraudster, he said he did not know the man’s house or have other information about him as he met him casually at Hotel Bus Stop about 300 metres to his residence where a church member had sent him on an errand to play lotto, popularly known as “Baba Ijebu”.

I'm Not Broke & I Don't Jump On Okadas - Popular Singer Cries Out

Nigerian Singer, Essence has been off the social scene and many have insinuated that she's broke. Hence her sudden disappearance.

A report broke out of how Essence is broke and now takes okada.

But the singer who said she's not broke and that she's dating a Nigerian based man that's why she's shuttles the country has denied the claim in a recent interview.

See what she said below:

I have bought two cars since the incident. I have two RAV 4, a silver and another black.  I feel very insulted when somebody opens a blog and writes rubbish about people.  I saw the story myself, the writer has no address just the uninformed piece of trash the person wrote on the blog.  Internet is free, anybody can just wake up and open a blog and write rubbish.

The person wrote that I borrowed a car from my cousin, at least, I have a cousin that I borrowed a car from.  People abroad called me to tell me all these stories and they laughed because these are the same people who saw me on Oxford, Manchester, Dublin.  They just laughed it off.  If I am broke I won’t have the money to go to all these places.

Even if my partner sponsors me, it can’t be all the time because I also do shows abroad.

Very unintelligent report, the writer should go to motor licensing office and cross check my name among car owners in Nigeria.  If I trek while in the UK it means it’s cheaper to move around without your car unlike in Nigeria.

Pastor Kumuyi Forgives His Son Over His Extravagant Wedding

Seven months after suspending his son, John Kumuyi, for staging what is considered 'an extravagant wedding' in Deeper Life doctrine, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi has re-instated him as a pastor in the church after he and elders of the church forgave John and his wife, who were jointly suspended.

It would be recalled that John had allowed the society to influence him and thus ignored his father's teachings in the preparations for his wedding and the wedding proper. His wife had put on make-up and a séxy wedding dress. They even hired an executive limousine for the wedding that took place in Jamaica.

Some members of Deeper Life church in Nigeria were outraged by the pictures from the wedding which they aptly described as flamboyant, when compared to what other members of the church are permitted to wear for their own wedding in the same church. Below is one of such bitter comparison and complains...

Well, Pastor John has apologized and the church elders have all forgiven him. So, it's now case closed

We Won’t Accept Centenary Award – Femi Kuti

Femi Kuti, son of the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, in a chat wiyh PMNews has said the family would not accept any centenary award in their father’s honour. While stating that the family has not been officially informed about any centenary award for Fela, Femi noted that the Federal Government should first apologise for killing his grandmother, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, and burning of Kalakuta Republic. “We have not heard such but I can speak for myself, FG should first apologise for the killing of our grandmother and the burning of Kalakuta,” he said. Asked if the family would accept the award if the government apologised for the two wrongs mentioned, Femi said he doubts if the family would accept the award. “Like I said we have not heard anything from the Federal Government. Photos of Girl badly beaten by boyfriend shares her story

Gabriella is her name. Says she's an aspiring Victoria Secret model and actress. Not sure where she's from though. Gabriella, via her instagram account @bambiiiii_ shared her recent sad experience of domestic violence from her boyfriend of eight months. She was badly beaten, thrown from a moving vehicle and dragged. She shared this photo of her injury above on her instagram page and wrote:

"This might be a little graphic but I just want to let everyone know that I am okay. I am a survivor of domestic violence with a boy I dated for 8 months. I really thought everything was fine but he constantly questioned me about cheating and flirting. Nonsense. I never looked at someone the way he looked at me. Thought I loved this boy. How can someone that 'loves' me do this to me? The scars on my chest are way worse and extend down to my right nipple, completely scarred. The skin on my shoulder has been completely skinned. And I have bruising on my rib cage, neck, and my muscles. I was kicked out of a moving vehicle, then beaten and dragged, as I blacked out and was left lying there in my own puddle of blood. Doctors said I could have died if not made it when I did. I am so blessed and beyond lucky to be alive and have so much support from friends, family, and strangers. As I try to recover I ask to please keep me in your prayers. I have to wear a neck brace for 3-4 weeks, an arm cast and I can barely walk for now. Thank you for all the love. I hope to be an inspiration to women and anyone involved in domestic violence".

She didn't say what happened to the guy that did this.

Suspended CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sues President Jonathan

Suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has finally sued President Goodluck Jonathan before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, challenging his suspension from office.
In a suit filed late Monday by some of his lawyers, including Kola Awodein (SAN), Sanusi is urging the court to, among others, restrain the President and two others from giving effect to his purported suspension, pending the determination of his suit.
Also to be restrained are the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), sued with the President.

Sanusi is pleading for an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants from obstructing, disturbing, stopping or preventing him in any manner, from performing the functions of his office and enjoying in full, the statutory powers and privileges attached to the office of the governor of the CBN.
He said the interlocutory application he filed with the suit was necessitated by the issues raised in the suit.

Sanusi is of the view that delay could occasion irreparable, serious damage and mischief against him in the exercise of his statutory duties as the CBN Governor. He urged the court to grant the prayers contained in his interlocutory application, on the ground that the President’s alleged unlawful interference with the management and administration of the CBN, unless arrested, posed grave danger to the country’s economy.

He argued that granting his application will encourage parties to maintain the status quo, pending the determination of the substantive case. In a supporting affidavit, Sanusi averred that in the course of his duties as the CBN Governor, that he discovered certain discrepancies in respect of amounts repatriated to the federation account from the proceed of crude oil sales between the period of January, 2012 and July, 2013 and that he expressed concern in respect of the said discrepancies and had cause to inform the National Assembly of the said discrepancies because they affect the revenue of the federation and the national economy.
He stated that the President’s action, in purporting to suspend him from office, is aimed at punishing him for these disclosures.

Sanusi stated that he is challenging the President’s power to suspend him from office, noting that the President did not approach nor obtain the support of the Senate, based on his discussions with several senators, including Senator Bukola Saraki.

“I have been informed, and I verily believe the information given to me by Senator Bukola Saraki to be true and correct that the Senate did not give the President any support for my purported suspension and removal from office as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.”

Sanusi stated that the President’s actions in suspending him from office is contrary to provisions of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act relating to the appointment and removal of the CBN Governor and that his purported suspension amounts to unlawful interference in the administration and management of the apex bank and is illegal, null and void. He urged the court, in the interest of justice, to grant his reliefs.

The suit is yet to be assigned for hearing.

Fans blast Yobo’s Sexy Mother-In-Law: ”Allow Your Daughter Enjoy Her Marriage”

In Africa, marriage is a sacred institution that is not toiled with in any way. For Africans, especially Nigerians, the union between a man and a woman must be protected from external interference. That is why parents advise their children to endure their marriages, even when there are clear evidences of trouble or incompatibility between the husband and wife.
In the olden days, parents were actively involved in the choice of their children’s spouses, though such cultures have now been thrown into the gutters due to civilization.
However, when a lady leaves her parents, her mother ought to let go and allow her enjoy her new home, while such mother stays glued to her own husband. But once in a while, she pays visits to her daughter, especially when she gives birth to a new baby or her help is urgently needed.
Some years ago, Super Eagles defender, Joseph Yobo, took former beauty queen, Adaeze Igwe as wife. The two moved to Turkey after Yobo joined a Turkish football club, Fenebache.
But shortly after that, Yobo’s mother-in-law, Abigail Igwe, was accused of causing trouble in the marriage of her daughter due to her continued stay in her the lady’s matrimonial home.
Recently, pictures hit the internet showing the mother and daughter looking hot and now, some of Yobo’s fans have hit out at his mother-in-law. “Why is this woman always with her daughter? Her intrusion is getting out of hands,” one of the fans said.

“She should just give her daughter breathing space,” another fan submitted. “Can’t she stay with her own husband?” an aggrieved fan queried, while another said, “but she got married to John Fashanu about three years ago, so why is she is not always with him,” asked another fan.

President Jonathan's Uncle Abducted By Gunmen

According to Nationonlineng.net, without fear of President Goodluck Jonathan, ten gunmen sneaked into Otuoke, his hometown in Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, and whisked away his first cousin, Chief Inengite Nitabai. In a daring move, the heavily armed men stormed the expansive compound of Nitabai located before Otuoke bridge, off Otu-Okpoti-Ogbia Road and isolated their target without a gunshot.
Nitabai said to be about 70 years old is a compound chief in Jonathan’s Ebele family. He has been acting like a father to the President since Jonathan’s real biological father died, sources from the family said. Commotion and panic reigned supreme in the compound of Nitabai when the bandits gained access to the area between 8 and 9pm on Sunday.

The victim, his wife, his wife’s sister and three of his children were in the house when the assailants stormed the compound. His wife’s sister, 37-year-old Akinobebh Jin, said Silas, one of the sons of the victim first sighted the criminals and raised the alarm.
“We came back from somewhere around 8pm. Silas was at the verandah doing his assignment while my inlaw, my sister and two other siblings were in the living room together. After some time, Silas came shouting, saying that some people had just entered into the compound. As we sprang on our feet, we were confused because we didn’t know where to run to. Shortly after that, five heavily armed men entered into the house, barking. We ran into the kitchen and some of them followed us to the kitchen. They asked us to lie down. They hit my sister on the head and asked her to give them money. They also hit my inlaw with the butt of their guns and demanded money. They threatened to shoot us. My sister told them she had small money and they followed her to the bedroom where she gave them money”,she said.
Jin said after collecting about N400,000, the gunmen still took their victim forcefully into a car parked at the compound. She said the car a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) belonged to the victim and was parked in the compound.
“Five of the gunmen entered the compound while five others were hanging around the premises. They locked us inside the house before leaving”, she said.
Jin who sustained injury on her finger said she was yet to recover from the shock. There was uneasy calm around the area. A detachment of Joint Task Force(JTF), Operation Pulo Shield, and operatives of the police had been deployed to the place. Sympathisers were seen trooping into the compound while the wife of the victim was said to have gone to the clinic for treatment.
People were seen in groups discussing the incident just as a road leading to Otuoke had been cordoned off by soldiers. It was learnt that the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hilary Opara, and the Deputy Commander, JTF, Commodore Ime Ekpa, had earlier visited the crime scene. Opara said he and his men had murdered sleep since the incident happened. He said the police alerted other sister security agencies and prompted them to swing into action. He added that two gunboats had been stationed at the Onuebum waterside disclosing that the police had so far patrolled Edebiri, Kiambiri, Anyama and Ogobiri creeks.Opara revealed that two suspects had been arrested so far.
“The other two suspects saw my men and ran away. We know them and we will get them”, he said.
The Media Coordinator, JTF, Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, confirmed the incident and said the assailants abandoned the victim’s car at the Onuebum community water front. The confirmation showed that the assailants must have escaped with their victim into the creeks through Onuebum waterways. Nwachukwu said:
“Information available to me is that a certain Chief Nengite Nitabai was abducted by about 10 gunmen yesterday at about 9pm at Otuoke community in Ogbia LGA using his private vehicle.“The vehicle was later recovered at Onuebum community water front. The Deputy Commander, JTF, Commodore Ime Ekpa and a team of security agents have visited the crime scene and investigation is in progress to unmask the kidnappers and rescue the victim”.
Further investigations in Otuoke revealed that there were two Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) of the Nigerian Army stationed in the community. While one and detachment of soldiers have been guarding the mansion of President Jonathan, the other was stationed at the former hotel belonging to the wife of the President.

Jonathan Is A Good Man Surrounded By Incompetent And Fraudulent Aides – Sanusi Lamido

Suspended Central Bank Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, yesterday affirmed that President Goodluck Jonathan was a good and simple man who has good intention for the country but polluted by “extremely incompetent and fraudulent” aides.

Sanusi came under the heavy axe of Jonathan on Thursday over what he tagged as financial misconduct and recklessness as the Apex Bank Governor.

Sanusi in an interview with the Agence France Presse in Lagos, said many of Jonathan’s aides were sycophants, who do not know how a country is supposed to be governed.

He said, “When you sit with the President, he appears a nice and simple person who is trying to do his best.

“His greatest failing obviously is that he is surrounded by people who are extremely incompetent, who are extremely fraudulent and whom he trusts.”

Sanusi also frowned at the seizure of his international passport by security agents, claiming that it “was the beginning of infringement on my fundamental human rights.”

The Dan Majen of Kano said when he heard of a report condemning his performance, he wrote to Jonathan in “June or July” asking if an explanation was needed, but received no reply.

He argued that it would be too simple to describe his removal as payback for his attacks on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

“Since 2009, I have been annoying the government. There are people who think I have the wrong friends; people who think maybe I have not distanced myself enough from people who are seen to be opposition figures.”

“If I am sacrificed in whatever way, my freedom or my life… if it does lead to better accountability, it will be well worth it,” he added.

Guard Molests Woman Returning From T.B Joshua’s Church In Lagos

Over the weekend, a 24-year-old lady, Tivere, was molested by a security guard – Kelly Ochuko- on Mutiatu Street, Ikotun, Lagos State, while returning from a vigil at the Synagogue Church of All Nation.

The incident happened around 2am.

Police source say Tivere had travelled to Lagos from Sapele, Delta State, to participate in Pastor Temitope Joshua’s midnight programme. Around 2am, she had left for her lodge when a 27-year-old Ochukwo allegedly accosted her.

Punch newspaper reports that the security man, who was employed by the Igando Landlord’s Association to guard the area got his victim after threatening to harm her with a cutlass. To avoid being murdered with the cutlas, she yielded and followed him into an uncompleted building where the act took place.

After having carnal knowledge of the 24-year-old, Ochuko was said to have pleaded with her to marry him, and exchanged phone numbers with her that night.

After being freed, the victim approached some policemen she saw at a junction and narrated her ordeal to them and the culprit was arrested.

He was arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State on two counts of rape.

Although, Ochuko pleaded not guilty to the charge and elected summary trial, the magistrate, Ms Y.B Badejo-Okusanya, admitted him to bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The matter was further adjourned till March 4, 2014.

Nigerian agency to seize, burn unclassified, substandard movies

The Director-General, National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Patricia Bala, said on Friday that the board was intensifying efforts to rid Nigerian markets of unclassified and substandard films.

Mr. Bala told the News Agency of Nigeria that unregistered distributors were responsible for the influx of inferior films into the markets.

“Our emphasis will be on monitoring and enforcement because we want to clear the markets of unwholesome films.

“There have been so many, and most of those who sell on unwholesome content are people who are not registered with us and they are always on the move.

“They don’t come out during the day time. It is when we have closed for the day they go under the bridges and begin to sell.

“They don’t stay there for 10 minutes. Once, they open their bags and start selling they pack it up and move again to another location.

“Of recent, we have been going round and picking up a lot of uncensored movies and we have penalised some of them. Very soon, we will be burning the movies that we seized,” Bala added.

On imported films with unpleasant storylines, the director-general said it was difficult checking such films

“Most times, what they do is that they bring in one or two copies and they claim it is for their personal use.

“So if they are buying for their own personal use, you cannot stop them from bringing them in.

“However, when they come in they now go and replicate and then push it into the markets and that is wrong.

“Even, if they bring it in and want to sell it, they are supposed to bring it to the board for classification, but they don’t do so. Because of that, we have to go to the markets, monitor them and then pick them (films) up from the markets.

“That is the way we make sure that films we have not approved are not sold in the markets.’’

She said the various security agencies in the country lent the board the necessary support in discharging its responsibilities regarding enforcement.

The director-general said the board would hand over those arrested for selling unclassified films to security agents for prosecution.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria had accused the NFVCB of inefficiency and asked President Goodluck Jonathan to disband the management of the agency.
