I welcome you all to this occasion of the formal presentation of the Hand-over notes of my Administration to the in-coming Administration of the President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari.

This event and tomorrow’s inauguration of a new administration are truly historic as it is the first time in the history of our nation that we are witnessing the democratic and orderly transfer of power at the Federal level from one political party to another.

This was the touching moment when a young woman whose family made the heartbreaking decision to donate her dead brother's face for transplant met the recipient for the first time.

Rebecca Aversano met Richard Norris at his home in Virginia (main picture) and immediately recognised the features of her brother Joshua (left), who was hit by a van and killed in 2012.

'Wow. This is the face I grew up with,' she said. 'Can I touch it?' Mr Norris (after the transplant, right) was horribly disfigured 18 years ago when he accidentally fired a shotgun into his face. He endured more than 36 hours of ground-breaking surgery to receive 21-year-old Mr Aversano's face.

Oil Marketers To Call Off Strike, Promise Fuel Lifting In Six Hours

There are reports that an agreement to begin lifting petroleum products has been reached between Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) and the Federal Government.

The lifting of petrol products is expected to begin in the next 6 hours.

According to Magnus Abe, Chairman of the Senate committee on petroleum resources, it was revealed that the resolution was reached after  MOMAN's meeting with the  Minister of Finance,‎ Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Joseph Dawha, Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and major stakeholders in the oil and gas sector.

Similarly, the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN) have also suspended their industrial strike action.

Fuel Scarcity: I Can No Longer Watch Nigerians Suffer- Ifeanyi Ubah

Capital Oil and Gas Industries Limited boss, Ifeanyi Ubah this evening released a press statement saying he can no longer watch Nigerians suffer due to fuel scarcity and more dying just because there has not been fuel or diesel to power hospital generators for surgeries. Ubah says it’s a crime against his fatherland to be a part of the sufferings of Nigerians. He has therefore said he will be releasing about 13million litres of the product before dawn.

On Saturday 16th May 2015, we received an SMS ordering the suspension of loading activities in all depots from Monday 18th May 2015. We later realized that this directive was as a result of unpaid funds owed to transporters by oil marketers who in turn are owed by the Federal Government. This development has resulted in immense hardship to our fellow country men and women. We believe that a better solution can be pursued towards solving this problem in a way that does not adversely affect our dear citizens.

Jobless Computer Science Graduate Arrested For Car Snatching [Photo]

A computer science and information technology graduate from a university in Cotonou, Anidi Reginald, has landed in police net for car snatching in Enugu.Anidi, 27 years old, is said to have graduated from the university in 2013.

The suspect, from Enugwu Eke in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, was arrested by officers of the Ogui Division after he and members of his gang snatched a Honda Pilot car, with registration number AAA 598 CH, from the owner at gunpoint, Punch reports.

The incident occurred at Ozalla, in Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state on Saturday, by 11.00am.

Ebola Cases On The Increase In Sierra Leone & Guinea- WHO

The World Health Organisation (WHO), confirmed on Tuesday that the Ebola virus is still raging in Sierra Leone and Guinea.

Bruce Aylward, WHO Special Representative for Ebola in Geneva, told a technical briefing attended by health ministers that there were 36 new cases in the past week, which is four times as many cases as the week before.

Aylward said the findings were an indication that the virus would not go quietly and it would take painstaking efforts.

Nigerian Restaurant Shut Down For Selling Human Flesh To Customers

A Nigerian restaurant has reportedly been shut down for cooking human flesh and serving it to customers. The police were tipped off by locals who suspected something horrific was taking place inside the kitchen.

They raided the hotel restaurant to discover human heads which were still dripping with blood in plastic bags.

A local priest who ate at the restaurant - in the south-eastern province of Anambra - was alarmed at the price of meals there, let alone where the meat came from, BBC Swahili reported.

He was presented with a bill of 700 Naira - around £2.20 - when the daily wage for tens of millions of Nigerians is approximately 60p.

I Became Richer When I Divorced My Ex-Wife- Zaki Azzay

Zaki Azzay has told Punch newspaper that he is now richer than he used to be after divorcing his ex-wife. According to him things are very better now and he is glad. Zaki recently bought a G-Wagon and also completed his Makurdi estate and believes it was his wife who was behind him not achieving all of that when they were together. Zaki has re-married. Here’s what he told the newspaper about his better life;

“It is very true that since I left my ex-wife, things have been better for me. I know for certain that it is true and it has a spiritual connotation. I don’t know why but it is left for God. All I know is that I was married to a woman who I loved so much and I thought she loved me the same way. But unfortunately, I discovered otherwise. I cannot say all the things she did to the press because of my children. I don’t want to go into details but it is God’s will. Nobody can prosper in life without God’s grace,” he said.

Ebola:China Donates 12 Ambulances To Nigeria

The Chinese government has donated twelve ambulances to the Nigerian Government in order to complement its Ebola containment plan.

The ambulances all equipped for quick response to any emergency were given out to twelve hospitals across the country.

The donation was made through the Nigeria centre for disease control in Abuja.
