Bovi Shares Lovely And Revealing Birthday Message To Richard Mofe Damijo On His Birthday

who knew? Bovi was once a personal assistant to Richard Mofe Damijo, for two years, 2004 to 2006.

Bovi just shared on IG to celebrate RMD on his birthday. No be today Bovi hustle start o. Lol...Read:

Fresh out of school via NYSC, I had come to Lagos with just a bag. Squatting with my uncle who was a squatter, I dusted my scripts and headed to my appointment with nolywood icon, RMD. He leaned back on his swivel chair and crossed his legs on his table. It was the cleanest pair of mokasin shoes I had ever seen. In my mind I was before a "god".

Tell me about yourself, he said. I mumbled my family history unfluently. Any hopes of selling my scripts to him fizzled when he pointed to a corner in his office that had about a hundred scripts. I wasn't the only one trying to sell scripts. He promised to read mine and that he did. To fulfill all righteousness he took me to meet potential buyers on movie sets. One of such buyers, a director, ripped my story and made a movie years down d line.

After four weeks of escorting RMD on set, he said "I'm looking to hire a PA. If you think you fit the profile go home and think about it and let me know on Monday." My answer was immediate, "I don't need to go think. I can do it" "then resume on Monday". And PA I was for two years and six months but what I came out with, the things I learned from his direct teachings is what u describe as d polishing of diamond. He have me a book and said "Bovistus, if you read this book it would seem like you have a masters without d certificate." And that book was " the 22 immutable laws of branding". And it was true.

Once I asked him, how do you cope with the attention and the fame? He replied " ignore it. Or you will just die". Once I asked him "when does one cement his status as an entertainer" and he said " you are only as good as your last performance. There is no holiday on this job. If you flop in your next outing, that's the one people will remember". Once I asked him why a favorite big brother Nigeria character had been shockingly evicted, he smiled, looked me in the eyes and said "whenever you start from the top, there's only one place to go; down".

These are few of the very many life changing advice that where handed down to me. More than silver and gold. And I appreciate them forever. Well, all I've been trying to say is " happy birthday to the legend,

Richard Mofe-Damijo

Parents Of Baby Born With Two Organs Cries For Help

Parents of a little baby, Success Chisom Aniekwe, who was born with both the male and female sex organs is calling on well-meaning Nigerians to help them financially, as it has become a source of his worry for them.

The little Success Chisom Aniekwe, who is said to in constant pain, especially when he urinates has reportedly been in and out of hospitals where series of tests and surgeries have been recommended to help him.

Mrs. Chekwube Aniekwe who recounted how she discovered her baby had both sex organs told Daily Sun that the scan she did, while pregnant, showed that the baby was a girl. However, mother’s confusion started when the woman, who gave the baby its first bath said the sex organ was not pronounced.

The confusion increased when the mother moved to circumcise the baby, as the family wanted to circumcise its female children.

“Eight days of the baby’s birth, we went for the circumcision, when the woman noticed that my baby had both male and female organs. When the woman wanted to cut her clitoris, she said the baby was not a girl. She advised us to go back to his hospital of birth,” she stated.

The confused mother of three explained that she went back to the hospital, where the medical director examined the baby.

She said: “When the doctor looked at the baby’s case, he quickly referred us to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. When we got there, we were made to understand that we needed to do some tests before surgeries could be done to correct the anomaly. At the hospital, a pharmacist directed us to Isolo General Hospital. On getting to there, they said they could not handle the case.”

Mrs. Aniekwe who said in a bid to get solution for their child, they visited the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH said: “When we got LUTH, we were told surgeries were needed but would come only after some tests. We have not been able to do the tests because of lack of finance.”

“The last time we went to LUTH was in December 2013. At that time, one of the specialists told us that there would likely be two surgeries. We were also asked to do a hormone test to know whether the baby has womb, to know if another surgery would be added.”

“We made several attempts to raise money for the necessary tests but we could not and that is why we have not gone back to the hospital till now. Presently, we do not know what it would cost us to do the tests and the surgeries,” she stated.

The woman continued: “I am being embarrassed by the problem of the baby. Everywhere, I go, people get confused, as to whether the baby is a boy or girl. Initially, I used to dress the baby like girl. I also pierced the ears and put earrings. But as time passed, the baby’s look changed to that of a boy. People tell me my baby resembles a boy.  Within me, I know that there is a problem. It was when the face started changing to a boy that I started giving him a hair-cut and dressing him like a boy, even when the ears are pierced.”

The baby’s father, Emmanuel, who is optimistic about the outcome of the surgeries the doctors, said: “I will be very grateful if I could be assisted financially, so that the surgeries would be done. The baby is always in pains and too tender to be undergoing such. We have been blessed with a baby and, therefore, should be happy parents.”

The Defence Headquarters however said on Saturday that 53 of the insurgents were killed when security forces repelled the attacks. Director of Defence Information, Major-General Chris Olukolade, in a statement, said the military lost five soldiers and a senior officer during the confrontation.
He said the insurgents stormed the troops’ bases and police locations, while most of the operatives were out on patrol of surrounding villages...

Kanye West gets booed on stage

Kanye West’s self-entitlement continued on Friday night after he launched into a 20-minute rant mid performance at the London Wireless Festival. Kanye paused his performance to talk to the crowd about discrimination in the fashion industry and his promise to marry Kim seven years ago.

“People be looking at me like I got a problem or something. Like I’m uncontrollable, that I do what I’m not supposed to do.’ Turning his attention to the media, Kanye said ‘They control everyone with rumours & lies. They steal you from you & sell you back to you.’

To the crowd, Kanye asked: ‘How many people here think they’re awesome and have had people say they’re not their whole lives? What have I ever done other than believe in myself?

They say they won’t negotiate with celebrities…like I’m a terrorist or stupid. I’m not going to name names, I’m not going to mention any names but… Nike, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Don’t discriminate against me ‘cos I’m a black man making music.

What he said about Kim and his promise to marry her seven years ago…

‘‘I told Kim seven years ago: ‘I’m going to marry you,’ and I did – all the stuff I talk about, I can back it up. F**k saving face and what it’s supposed to mean, it’s about living my dream.’

I just wanted to make something awesome and be awesome and change the world, and that’s exactly what I plan to do.

Neymar Ruled Out Of World Cup With Fractured Vertebra

Brazil paid a heavy price for their 2-1 quarter-final defeat of Colombia in Fortaleza on Friday, with star man neymar suffering a fractured vertebra that will cause him to miss the rest of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.

After being carried off in tears on a stretcher, neymar was taken to the city’s Hospital Sao Carlos, where it was confirmed that his third vertebra had been broken. The news that neither his team nor his country wanted to hear was announced by the Brazil’s medical staff at the Estadio Castelao.

“neymar had a scan, which confirmed he had fractured his third vertebra,” said Brazilian Football Association (CBF) doctor Rodrigo Lasmar. “In terms of the recovery process, it’s a fracture that heals quickly, but unfortunately he’ll be in no condition to play next week.”

Lasmar added: “It’s not serious in the sense that it requires surgery, but he’s in pain and he’ll need to immobilise it to recover. He’ll have to have it immobilised with a belt for a few weeks to be able to get back to full mobility.”

Neymar sustained the injury in the closing stages of the match, under a challenge from a Colombian defender. The sight of the stricken No10 being carried off and then taken to hospital for scans dampened the spirits of the Brazil fans as they celebrated their side’s qualification for the last four.

While the confirmation that neymar’s tournament is over was greeted with dismay and sadness, his team-mates are already thinking about how to make up for his absence, Hulk among them. “It’s very sad news,” said the forward. “Nobody expected this.

“We are delighted with the win but sad about this news. It’s all very frustrating. neymar really looks after himself. He was so excited about the World Cup and he’d helped us so much. We have to get over this and run even harder for him. We’re going to try and be the champions anyway and dedicate the title to him.”

Neymar has been one of A Seleção’s stand-out performers at the World Cup, scoring four goals, but will now have to watch from the sidelines when Brazil take on Germany in next Tuesday’s semi-final in Belo Horizonte.

The Prosperous Lives of Kate Henshaw and Mercy Johnson

The stories of our lives are never determined by the beginnings. The starting point only helps us to know where to steer the boat.  If our efforts don’t change our live then it is baseless.
A wise man once said that life doesn’t give you what you deserve, but what you demand. In this edition, we view the lives of two celebrities who demanded wealth and fame from life, and today, are living their dreams.

Kate Henshaw

Kate Henshaw  is no doubt one of the most popular and richest actresses to have graced the screen in Nigeria. The mother of one, since her debut in When the sun sets, has come a long way and is rated as one of the most successful actresses in Nollywood. She was born July 19, 1971 in Calabar, Cross Rivers State. Kate is the first of four children. She had her primary and secondary education in Lagos and Calabar respectively.
Kate did remedial studies at the University of Calabar and went on to Lagos State University to bag a degree in Medical Microbiology. She later worked at the Bauchi State

General Hospital.

The icon ventured into the make-believe world in 1993, after she auditioned and got a lead role in the movie, When the sun sets. She has featured in more than 50 movies including blockbusters movies like Games Men Play, Above Death, and In God We Trust.
She also starred in a new movie titled The Assassin’s Practice, which premiered recently in the United Kingdom and is set to hit Nigerian cinemas.

Awards

Kate Henshaw, in 2008, won the African Movie Academy Awards for the Best Actress in a leading role for her role in the movie titled Stronger than Pain.

Favourite Clothing Items

It is no doubt that Kate Henshaw has one of the best bodies in Nollywood due to her consistent workout culture. It is no wonder, therefore, that she showcases this body of hers in expensive designer clothes, bags and shoes. She was sighted on her mini black and red Kira dress from the Afrolosophy collection at the London premier of the Assassin’s Practice. The dress was designed by a UK-based Nigerian designer label, Asake Oge. Her clothes are worth N100,000 to N250, 000 per design. She completed her red carpet look with a black and red peep-toe shoes, a red clutch and a stunning ruby earrings which must have cost the ‘celeb’ a fortune. She also wears Charlotte Olympian Heels designs; the designer shoes only are worth over N200,000 per piece.
Again, at the recent AMVCA award, Kate stole the show with her red Needlepoint dress. Needlepoint dress are always handmade and handmade clothes are priceless. Kate also has a Fendi designer’s handbag worth over N200,000.

Endorsements

Kate Henshaw was one of Globacom brand ambassadors. The endorsement deal was worth millions of naira. Kate replaced Sasha, the female rapper, as one of the judges on Nigeria’s Got Talent. It is also an endorsement deal worth million of naira. She is still the face of Onga. Kate Henshaw is also one of Samsung’s brand ambassadors, an endorsement worth millions of naira also. She is the face of Blessings Perfume in the United Kingdom.

Projects

Kate has a reputation for being fit as she has maintained the lifestyle of regular exercises over the years. It is no surprise that she is about to launch a fitness regime DVD called “Kate’s Fit for life DVD” in September. She had recently signed a multi- million naira contract to market and distribute the fitness DVD in Nigeria and abroad. ‘Fit for Life’ is going to be sponsored by an International Distribution deal in New York. In 2012 Kate Henshaw Hair Dressing Saloon was nominated for Liverpool Lifestyle Awards in the United Kingdom.
Houses and Cars

 Kate Henshaw's Nissan-Armad

Our icon is not so flashy. She is prudent when it comes to buying loud, extremely, expensive cars like most celebrities do. She channels her money into investments. At the moment, she drives an SUV, Nissan Arrmada, worth N16m. Kate Henshaw has a property in Cross Rivers state and lives in her own house worth millions of naira in a choice area on Lagos Island.

Mercy Johnson

Mercy Johnson Okojie is already a force to reckoned with in the Nigerian entertainment industry. She may not have stayed a hundred years, but she is an authority without mincing words. She is blessed with a body every man would kill to have. Mercy has been described many times by her own friends and colleagues as an extremely beautiful African woman, blessed with uncanny intelligence and wisdom. Her debut into the industry was at the time when some actresses were facing suspension and new faces were in desperate need.
Her story was that she seized the opportunity given and made the best of it. Yes, she rose from zero to hero as a true heroine she was born to be. It was not always rosy for the screen sweetheart as she got shot into limelight after spending a part of her life working humbly to feed herself.   MJ was born on August 28, 1984. She hails from Okene in Kogi state and is the sixth child of seven children. Her Primary Education commenced in Calabar, and later continued at the Nigerian Navy Primary School, Lagos State. Mercy attended Rivers State Secondary school, but finished from the Nigerian Navy School both in Port-Harcourt. After her Secondary education, situations in life launched the icon into acting and the rest, as they say, became history.

Ratings

Mercy Johnson rakes in more than N7.5m per week and gets to do five movies per week. She is the highest sought-after actress and one of the highest paid actresses in Nollywood. She had starred in over 60 movies and still counting. Her movies are known to have been soldout even in Europe as she attained international recognition. It is no wonder producers stand in queues to give scripts to Mercy and also pay up-front to even get her attention. An example was when Mercy Johnson travelled to the United States to have her baby and had to feature in the movie titled Baby Oku, which was actually written because of the state of her pregnancy. That movie, Baby Oku, indeed sold like wildfire both in Nigeria and abroad.
This screen goddess has carve an amazing niche for herself to then extent that the least she charges as professional fee per movie is N1.5m or N2m, and she does close to five movies per week. Once in an interview, she told the press that she isn’t bothered about not having any endorsements from any telecommunication body or so. She said that her endorsements comes from her fans all over the world applauding her great work of art on screen and the money she rakes in for the jobs.

Project

Mercy Johnson may not be so busy with a lot of projects, but she is busy with her foundation which is dear to her. She calls it The Mercy Johnson Foundation for Children and Widows (TMJFCW). TMJFCW is a Non-Governmental Organisation. Meanwhile, the icon recently travelled to the United Kingdom to have her second baby. That alone is a project of a life time. As a mother and a wife, Mercy has done a fantastic job. It is not a surprise that she was given a welcome-home package by her hubby when she returned from the States after her first baby. Her fans are waiting for the second surprise package!

Her movies

Amongst her movies is the popular Dumebi in School, Sonma the Local Champion, Ebute the Only Girl and more.

Her car and house

Mercy Johnson has so many vehicles, but she said that her best is the car she received as a gift from her husband when she had her first baby. It is a brand new Lexus SUV which is worth N16m. Before her marriage to Prince Okojie, MJ had properties undisclosed, but enjoys her life living with her husband in their beautiful duplex in Lekki, Lagos.

Her designs and perfumes

Although Mercy Johnson is not a strict designers person, she wears what fits her body shape and type. It could be said that MJ is a designer in her own credit because she doesn’t need any particular design to look breathtakingly on the red carpet. According to MJ’s friends, as she is fondly called by her friends, MJ loves good perfumes and spends a lot of money getting them because to her, it is never wrong to smell nice. She goes for expensive designers perfumes.

Her wedding and life today

It would be recalled that MJ married her heartthrob, Prince Odianosen Okojie, in 2011 amidst so much joy and laughter. She is presently in United Kingdom expecting her second baby.

Female Police Officer Threaten to Shoot Edo Assembly Speaker On Orders From Above

The Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Uyi Igbe and 14 other All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers, escaped death on Friday after over one hundred armed mobile policemen deployed from Abuja to the state, took over the premises of the State House of Assembly.

The policemen who stormed the Assembly complex at about 11am started assaulting the staff of the Assembly in their offices, ordering them out of the premises. The workers who are involved in the on going renovation of the Complex were equally chased away by the policemen.
Following the pandemonium at the Assembly complex, a visibly shocked Speaker of the House, Uyi Igbe, came out from his office to confront the policemen led by ASP Florence Joseph.
The female police officer told the Speaker that they were acting on “orders from above” and threatened to shoot the Speaker if he attempted to stop them..

Angered by her comment, the 15 APC lawmakers challenged her to shoot them, vowing to resist any attempt by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to use the police to destabilize the state.

“We will fight with the last drop of our blood, the presidency and the Inspector General of Police can kill all of us, we are prepared to die”, they echoed to the policemen.

According to Vanguard, as the argument between the APC lawmakers and the Police went on, the impeached Deputy Speaker of the House, Festus Ebea, said there was no need for the renovation, saying that it was an attempt by the APC to stop them from sitting.

The Assembly complex has been taken over by orders from above.

‘Nigerians are ungrateful’ - Uti Nwachukwu

Nigeria – pls stop complaining and start appreciating! Gratitude cannot be over emphasized.
I think one major bane of the success of our country is social media! Ironically this same tool has been used to develop so many countries including ours to an extent- but would you call it negative or positive …. (search your heart and answer). You see everything that is happening now has happened before and will happen again! Life is very spiritual and all answers are in the bible on your coffee table. Before I start, please don’t get me wrong o. I’m no saint. I’m a sinner like everyone else and that’s why I love Jesus with a passion because he came for, died for and saved people like me not the perfect ones out there who have no sin.
Now I speak. The major spiritual problem we have as a nation is complaining!! Nagging!! Bickering!!! I’m sorry to break the news to you but this country will never get better until we stop!!! Look at the bible, after the Israelites got delivered from Egypt and they were tested in the wilderness, what did they do? Complain!!! And what happened…you know the rest!!
We keep praying for nigeria to get better but the minute god sends a representative to us and allows us to go thru a test, the complaining starts!!! What spurred this thot in my head. Super eagles! This is a team we had all become ashamed of after the 90s. God obviously sent us keshi and some players to redeem our image. After a lot of hard work and training we finally won the african nations cup! And we all sang praises (cue in deliverance from Egypt)
Now we went to the world cup and our first draw. The insults started!! We won the other game (cue in manna) the praises started again. We lost and fell out of the tournament! And then the curses started again. Now (Stephen) Keshi has resigned! (cue in calamities suffered by Israelites in the wilderness). Some are so ungrateful and even saying ‘let him go jor!‘, ‘who is he?‘ ‘is he our God?‘ smh. Nope he is not our god. But surely he was sent to lead and grow our team. God will not come down from his throne to help you! He uses people here on earth!!!
This is a huge setback for us especially at a time like this when we have little or no positive stories coming out from nigeria. This was one thing that painted us good in the eyes of the world. Oh well… Que cera cera right? …..Nigeria…..we are in trouble if his ingratitude continues! I once told a friend of mine who was loosing his head that : to truly appreciate god is to appreciate his vessels. Nigeria. Watch it! This is a warning from god about our country!!!
Have you ever wondered why the security crises lingers? Yes yes blame it on the leaders and flawed systems! Blame it on the terrorists, blame it on whoever and whatever! But hey. We are praying right? Joining hands right? So why is it still happening?… We have to be careful before god withdraws from this country!! God hates pride and ingratitude o! I’m not campaigning for anyone but i remember how we all prayed for a leader for democracy, we got Obj. We abused and complained. Still God had mercy. We got M.Yar’Adua [Musa Yar'Adua]. We talked and complained some more. Still more mercy..we got G.jonathan [Goodluck Jonathan]! (nobody forced you to vote! We came out in droves to truly vote! And we jubilated when he won!)
Now immediately the challenges started ..ghen ghen Nigerians used social media to bicker! Complain, insult!….it didn’t stop…more crises to test us.. We complained!!! It just keeps getting worse meanwhile we are praying abi!!! Where is the praise? Where is the worship to god almighty? Where is the thanksgiving?! – did god say we won’t have challenges?? Even jesus was tested right after he was elevated!!! Did he succumb??!!!
My dear Nigerians it’s not too late o!!! It’s not at all!! Let the gratitude start now! Stop all negative talks and complaining! Pray for your leaders! Support and love them , praise god in every situation! Stop hypocritically accusing and putting each other down, if we do not , then im afraid god might just lead his people out in his own way and then withdraw from the country. Let’s go back to god truly! With happiness, joy, thanks giving and gratitude. Delete complain from our vocabulary ooo!! And let’s watch things turn around for our country!
Like I said I am not a saint! Neither am I a prophet! And I know a lot of people will start by insulting me and asking me if me sef i neva complain! Some might even resort to calling me all sorts of names but whether you like it or not you voted for me in 2010 and the streets went wild with jubilation when I won BBA All Stars! That clearly meant something!!
Just to conclude, I’m just someone who is aware of how much god loves him and bathes him with favor, grace, mercy, success, good health, peace of mind and other spiritual gifts which my close friends and family members are clearly aware of. Yes I lose it sometimes (evident in some rants online) but yeh I’m not perfect and I never let go of my gratitude. ….let us all learn true spiritual gratitude to what God has done for us.
God bless Nigeria! We shall rise again like the phoenix in every sector! Stronger better and full of love and appreciation.
*Nwachukwu is a model, actor and the 2010 winner of the Big Brother All Stars reality show.

The parents who disclosed this to Leadership in Maiduguri yesterday said, they would be happy to receive the corpses of their daughters for decent burial than for them to remain in Boko Haram's captivity without any knowledge of what they are passing through.

However, the Borno State chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend Titus Pona, explained that the people have already started mobilising themselves to go in search of the girls inside Sambisa Forest as they feel the government is not doing enough to rescue the girls, but that stakeholders in the area have been pleading with them not to embark on such a deadly mission.

He added that they don't for how long they would be able to prevent them from doing so.

Pona said, "We went round to see some of the parents and their families; it was a very pathetic sight; some of them were crying and asking that they would be happy to receive the corpses of their daughters so that they can bury them and mourn them decently, than having them out there in the bush, without knowing what is happening to them."

The Presidential fact-finding committee on the abduction of the school girls in Chibok, Borno State had in June, submitted their report to President Goodluck Jonathan. Their report confirmed that the actual number of girls abducted was 276, out of which 219 are still missing as about 57 of them had escaped and had  since been reunited with their family.

Heavy Bomb Blast Rips Through Popular Market In Maiduguri

It beats my imagination that this people who called themselves Boko Haram are still killing innocent people who know nothing about their fight, even during fasting period. Chai! is this not suppose to be a holy season?

According to report, heavy bomb blast rocked the busy Monday Market in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State, killing many who had gone to their market for their legitimate businesses.

A Borno government state government official confirmed the blast to SR, saying the causality number is very high but stated that security agencies are working to secure the area and rescue victims...

Eyewitnesses told SR that the bomb went off during a busy morning at vicinity of the market. The real number of casualties in the unfortunate incident could not be immediately verified as security agencies are said to have condoned off the scene to secure the market.

This is like the first major bombing by Islamist sect Boko Haram since the beginning of the Ramadan.

Raw Gold Discovered in Ilesha, Osun State

All is now set for the mining of the first gold in Ilesha, in the State of Osun as the Governor Rauf Aregbesola, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an Australian mining firm, Andalusian Mining Industry.

This came as the leader of the mining firm, Colin Miller, told the governor that his company would present the first raw gold to the people of the state before the end this year.

The signing ceremony took place at the Government House, Osogbo yesterday with a moderate ceremony with the governor in attendance.

The governor said the Australian mining firm had conducted a geological survey which confirmed that there was a huge deposit of gold in Ilesha.

Aregbesola said the discovery had presented the state with a wonderful opportunity to partner with Andalusian in the breakdown, exploration and mining of gold in the state.

He said the people and the state look forward to having maximum advantage of the mining firm’s presence in the state.
