PHOTOS:Eclipse witnessed in Nigerian cities

The much-awaited eclipse was witnessed today in some major Nigerian cities and towns.
Eclipse is a phenomenon that occurs when the moon passes between the sun and the earth, and partially blocks the sun.
An online site www.timeanddate.com, had predicted that partial eclipse will be visible in Lagos by 12:50pm, when the moon would touch the edge of the sun.
It said that by 2:32pm, maximum eclipse would occur and the moon would be seen closest to the centre of the sun, and another partial eclipse by 4:01pm, when the moon would leave the edge of the sun.

Eyewitnesses sent some photos taken in parts of Lagos, Jos, Akure and Abuja.
