You are on 24habits home,may I know your name and a brief detail about you?

My name is Lola Valentine Shanu
I am a professional makeup artist,CEO and creative director of my own brand.

Oh cool! So what is your brand of makeup artistry all about?

My Brand tend to bring out the beauty of women with our creativity and artistic work,combining knowledge to achieve a perfect customised look to suit individuals and corporate clients who desire to enhance their unique looks,using make-up products and techniques



We also make unique custom beaded jewelry e.g necklace,earrings,tiara,head pins,ankara accessories(accessories made with fabric)

We are dedicated to the highest level of beauty transfomation and commited to beautifying our customers.

What makes your brand different from other brands that we know,Not to mention names?

What makes our brand different is we have customer loyalty,excellene in service,and our customers get satisfaction guaranteed.

As a brand what were your major challenges before geting to this level you are now?

Competition,half-baked makeup artist and clients. One of the major challenges at first was convincing people that we are good at what we do,there is competition in the makeup world as there are lots of makeup artist,then there are makeup artist who are not professionals,people who don’t even know what they are doing,they charge the client a small fee and render substandard services,Another challenge is the client as a professional outside the country,you are paid per hour but here you work for a full day and they don’t care because they know many people would do it at a cheaper rate so they believe they are doing you a favour…

So what strategies has been most helpful to you when it comes to facing most of the challenges and promoting your brand?

Yea it sure is a lot of challenges but we have been able to use different strategies,for instance when we started,we tried getting customers by doing lots of free jobs,just to let people know about us and to convince them that we are capable of doing a good job on them,we also do makeup photo shoots and advertised on facebook thereby reaching a wider audience,post our jobs on twitter,bbm and all social networks we can place our hands on, cause virtually everyone is on one social media or the other,so far the results have been encouraging,but we still hope for more, because more clients means more money

More money indeed,its really a business to invest in,how do u cope with it because the way I see it,it must be a time consuming project,how do u combine it with other activities?

Yes it is time consuming,and I do have other activities,but in life there are check and balances which comes with priorities,in anything I do on daily basis I know how to manage my time well.

Interesting, So are you single or married?

I am married

Don’t get me wrong but I was going to say you are a strong single successful entrepreneur but I just realized you have a strong back bone.What does your husband think of you being not just a house wife, you know most men would prefer the wife staying at home. How does your husband feel about all of this and has he ever shared ideas with you based on what you do?

My husband is a visionary who does not believe a woman,s place is in the kitchen,he is supportive in every aspect of what I do,he believe that I should be financially independent and work right beside him and not behind him.If there is anything to be achieved or attained he is always there to back me up and advice me.

I agree with you on that.I’m a visionary too! I like that. so tell me what are your greatest achievements lately and so far.

Lately I have been able to nurture my business to a level which I did not expect,a lot of people are now aware of LVS Beauty Gallery,the calls and messages from clients and future clients are amazing in so doing I have been able to network with a lot of people and. “There is no fear cause I am a trail blazer and a pathfinder”


You should take over from Margaret thatcher 

That should not be a problem since she was intelligent and known as IRON LADY and that is a good trait.

There is one problem that brands like yours that I have seen go through,they always give up on the road when the capital seems higher,what would you have to say about that? And also share with our listeners what you think is the last thing an entrepreneur needs to put in while mapping out a business structure.

This is a passion I was born with,to be a beautician and I have come to adopt a principle of  FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION.and regardless of what the market is like,up or down I have learned to make adjustment to meet that current situation. My brand has come to stay,and it is meant to strive pass any type of obstacle on the way…the last thing an entrepreneur need to do is to make sure that the passion and the love for the business is there because if those ingredients are missing the entrepreneur would get frustrated and loose hope,thereby leading to the fall and crash of the business

Word# I definitely believe that! Passion,passion is the keyword. We are almost through,but first are there one or two people you would want to appreciate? And by the way, how many years have you been in this?

I appreciate God cause if not for him I would not be at this level,and I also appreciate my loving and supportive husband.  A year and half
