Over 50 Killed In Central Mosque Today In Kano State

Over 50 persons are said to have died in the three explosions that rocked the Kano Central mosque during Juma’at prayers this afternoon.

An eyewitness who spoke to BBC says he counted over 50 dead bodies. Sources at the emir’s palace say Emir of Kano Sanusi arrived Saudi Arabia last night from Kano.

The bomb blast that occurred at Kano Central Mosque on Friday during Juma’at prayers this afternoon Nov 28. The Kano Central Mosque is where the Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido usually lead prayers on Fridays. Lamido is said to be absent during the attack.

Security personnel who confirmed the incident said the attacker disguised as a worshiper. He tells TheCable that the explosions occurred right inside Ado Bayero Central mosque. .



Abdul Umaru, a resident of Kano, said there was an exchange of gunfire between security personnel and unknown persons, moments after the blasts.
“ Kano is on fire. Gunshots everywhere. We cannot go out because we have just been held captive inside our homes,” he said. The spate of these bombings is becoming very frequent. God what is happening.
It would be recalled that Sanusi recently advised that people should arm themselves against attack from the rebels.
